The fitness update

It's happened... I've completed the BBG1!!! I can't believe it's over -I've honestly loved this plan! Although I didn't get in as much HIIT as I should have over the past few weeks ( weeks 9-12 introduces HIIT as well as your LISS workouts) I have definitely achieved something. The workouts stepped up like crazy in the last 4 weeks and ONCE and only once in the whole 12 weeks I didn't complete a circuit in time and I pushed myself harder to make sure I did it the second time around. I genuinely can't beleive some of the moves I've had to do!
I feel a lot stronger and although there is some fat still there I feel a lot more toned and I never thought I would be able to do 20 commando's easy! My thighs have shrunk quite a lot and so has my back fat and biceps! I even think my boobs have shrunk a little ( YAS! - big boobed girls you may know my pain I just want to be able to buy bra's in any store and not have to hold out for the DD+ shops!). It's been lovely hearing it from people at work that they can tell my hard work has paid off and getting to fit into clothes I never have is always a plus!
what's next? Well, I'm restarting the plan and upping my weights to 7-8kg, I'm toying with the idea of ankle weights and I'm also going to look at how to make the moves harder, although I'm redoing the plan I don't want to make it easy by any means! For the next month I'm still at hot yoga but I'm going to start adding in some running training! I hadn't wanted to properly start training till July for my half marathon but every little counts and I want to be able to do a 5k in 25 minutes and a 10K in around 55 in september! I also really need to focus more on my diet and cutting things out, although I have been quite healthy I want to have a more varied diet and really work harder at cutting out unnecessary sugars!
Here's to the next 12 weeks! I'll keep updating you every 4 weeks with my progress! x

Review: eat nourish glow - Amelia Freer

Picture taken from Google.

This year I really wanted to get my healthy eating in order and improve my health and fitness, which you may have caught glimpses of.... although I haven't yet got my own kitchen to fully be able to do this. I decided in order to prepare myself I needed further education on nutrition and some more healthy recipes in my life!
This is about not treating your body like a dust-bin and listening to yourself and what works for you so that you can feel great. Naturally if you are going to fill your body with the right things you are also going to loose weight - added bonus! She explains what to have in your cupboards, how to start cutting out those bad things like gluten and dairy, explains the good fats and why we need to reduce sugar as much as we can.

This book is jam-packed with tips and Amelia has a really great way of explaining nutrition to you, like a friend talking to you. Initially when I opened it and saw how small the recipe section was, I was a little disappointed but after reading the book I was pleasantly surprised to find recipes throughout the chapters! Whilst some of this I did know ( especially after reading - I quit sugar) I still found this book really valuable and educational and I feel really inspired to start my healthy journey.

I have created a new instagram to help me on my journey: healthy_lauzb - I'll be posting a lot of recipes and progress, there is soemthing about logging it for the world to see that helps with motivation! :)  .... This is most likely going to start end of May when I'm back!

Personal: Sunday 11th May

I know.
I've been pretty poor at blogging this past week and ever poorer at getting a vlog out.
I have actually got a Vlog filmed, it just needs to be edited. I've just been crazy busy lately.

Amid several relationship dramas ( not mine, but I'm there as a friend of course), back to salsa, seeing Mcbusted ( BEST. NIGHT. EVER) and a sewing course - I haven't had as much time. I've also been trying to get back into running outdoors again.... I have been getting better at planning and organising not only my blogging life but everyday life so that weekly plan I promised - I WILL get back on track.

After my last book post, I realised being a complete bookworm, book reviews was something I really wanted to do every now and again when I find a book I just have to blog about.

Another thing I really want to focus on, is getting healthy and loosing weight. I know everyone has those new year resolutions. THIS YEAR I will shrink for summer and usually ( apart from the beginning of last year) I have pretty much never achieved this. I did really well last year going from my heaviest 10 st 2 at new year ( one too many roasts...) to 8 st 7 - I'm not sure if this was my smallest, I think it was because I fit in clothes I can only just get on now. I don't really weigh myself so I don't go off weight but how clothes fit me. at 5ft weight this much is quite embarrassing for me but I feel confident enough in myself now to say that.

Over the past month or so, I have started to get better at my healthy commitment and I have found myself loosing some weight. I also FEEL better in myself so I thought I might start blogging on my tips, tricks and what I do to shed the weight.

What has also prompted this is I have just bought the - I quit sugar book by Sarah Wilson. Now I am looking at this in the same way I am looking at being healthy I know for myself its not realistic to be healthy ALL the time, same way I know I will not realisticly cut sugar out( bar the recommended amount) completely. My aim with this is to change my choices, I already prefer not going to burger joints and picking up something lighter or looking at my options and thinking which is the healthiest ( I think I will do a post after a few months with my tips for eating out) so I wanted to change what I cook at home and learn to cut sugar out as much as I can. She listed a lot of symptoms of what too much sugar can do and I felt most if not all applied to me.

So expect some healthy posts aswell! I promise I will do some beauty posts this week aswell.
No more slacking!
