A real cheeky party....

At Christmas I KNEW something I had to ask for was the benefit's real cheeky party set. Getting more bronzers and blushes is on my list as I really want to expand out. I also really want to try out new blush colours and thought this is the perfect opportunity to do so! at £29.50 this is an absolute bargain!  You get 5 different shades, concealer, mascara and eyeliner! BARGAAAIN. I'm just going to talk a little about the shades themselves here.

I've wanted to try the Rockateur shade for quite a while but could never afford it and it didn't disappoint, for someone easing themselves into the world of blush I found this was a great one to start with. I really loved this and it made me much more open to trying out coralista. Rockatear is kinda like a mauve/rose shimmery pink.

Coralista was also a surprise love, I didn't think a shade like that would suit me but I've found myself reaching for it quite a lot. As the name suggests it's a gorgeous coral shade which is surprisingly nice on my pale skin! It's got just the right amount of pink hue to it!

Sugarbomb is one I've only used a couple of times but it does look lovely, the 4 shades all mix really well together to make a subtle and buildable pinky hue on the cheekys and the purple kinda balances it out so it's not too OTT.

Hoola, well... we all know about Hoola don't we? I knew I would love Hoola before I tried it 1) because its a bronzer and 2) it's quite similar to a shade I've tried before so it was a failsafe for me and didn't disappoint! It's the only matte shade in the palette and is a warm toned bronze and is perfect for contouring!!

Lastly is dandelion admittely I haven't really used this shade at all, I just thought it was far to pale for me but after looking in the book they give you with this they've suggested a great way to pair this with Hoola so I think I'm going to have to brave it and give it a go!

Which is your favourite benefit shade?  xx

MAC - Ellie Goulding ' I'll hold my breath'

When I first saw this collection, it's safe to say I wanted a fair amount of it. I really loved the packaging and Ellie's logo went really well onto everything. Sadly with this coming out before Christmas I had to make a strategic purchase. One of my beauty resolutions was to get some more blushes and bronzers - which I managed to do at christmas! ( more to be revealed at a later date...*hint* benefit) With this being a gorgeous bronze with a little blush mixed I thought it was the perfect choice to go for.
The pink of the blush isn't a shade I would usually go for it's quite bold with a little peachy tone to it and I have to say it was a lot more pigmented then I initially thought. When I first used this I swirled my brush round the whole thing and was pleasantly surprised how much pink came out through the brown and the two colours do compliment each other quite well. I love this as a bronze by itself  it's quite warmed toned and the way they have done the packaging means it's quite easy to use just the one colour.
Sorry guys, this is sold out but if you do manage to see one I really do recommend picking it up! I would absolutely re-purchase this!
Did you manage to get any of the collection?

5 things I'm excited for this year

This year is just beginning and I've already started putting some big awesome plans into place!! So here are 5 things I'm really excited for this year
1) Thailand: Not only have I never been to Thailand but I get to go with 3 of my oldest and bestest friends from home. I'm going at the end of March for just under 2 weeks. We are going to Phuket and Koh Samui. I really wanted to do mermaid swimming but they don't do it anymore! Any tips or what we can do let me know!!
2) Parklife: I go every year, in fact the only year I haven't been is the very first year, and the line up so far is BANGINNGG. Bastille, Nao, Mura Masa, Shura, Gorgon City, Sigma, Craig David.years and years, Jack Garratt, flume, Circa waves...thats not even everyone I want to see and the full line up isn't even out yet!! It's one of my favourite weekends and a tradition for me and my friends!
3) Glastonbury, oh god, anyone who wants to go knows what it's like getting a ticket, last year I didn't manage to go but I am this year and there is so much for me to explore! Its one of my besties first times going which is even more exciting! - I can't wait for the silent rave!! I also didn't go down the rabbit hole last time so THAT IS HAPPENING. Aah who is going to be on the line up? I'm thinking Foals is there somewhere. I wish Lorde would be on it!
4) A foreign festival - I REAAAAALLLY wanted to do croatia rocks this year but it doesn't look like its happening at all. which I am so gutted about because it was just a perfect holiday/festival combination and croatia itself is stunning!! At the moment it's looking like Benicassium or Nosalive!
5) Leeds festival - oh god. Jack U? the return of Two door cinema club AND foals/disclosure headlining? YAAAAAAAAS LEEDS.
I can't wait! What are your holiday/festival plans!?

Inside my sketchbook 1

Things have been a little quiet on the blogging front lately, I've been decorating jars for my etsy and I kindaaaaa got a bit obsessed with it and didn't do much else.... The jars have really made me feel creative again and I've even started painting!! One of my main goals this year was to start creating my own sketching style but one of my other goals was to practice my use of colour and how to use different colours together. I've been doing a lot of practising with oil pastels so I thought I would show you them! I still need a lot of work but who knows where I will be by the end of the year! I'm not really focusing on any particular subject when I am practising at the moment but the aim is to work it into portrait work. I'm thinking about making this a regular post letting you see what's inside my sketchbook! I've also included a cheeky shot of a painting I've been working on!
