A real cheeky party....

At Christmas I KNEW something I had to ask for was the benefit's real cheeky party set. Getting more bronzers and blushes is on my list as I really want to expand out. I also really want to try out new blush colours and thought this is the perfect opportunity to do so! at £29.50 this is an absolute bargain!  You get 5 different shades, concealer, mascara and eyeliner! BARGAAAIN. I'm just going to talk a little about the shades themselves here.  
I've wanted to try the Rockateur shade for quite a while but could never afford it and it didn't disappoint, for someone easing themselves into the world of blush I found this was a great one to start with. I really loved this and it made me much more open to trying out coralista. Rockatear is kinda like a mauve/rose shimmery pink.
Coralista was also a surprise love, I didn't think a shade like that would suit me but I've found myself reaching for it quite a lot. As the name suggests it's a gorgeous coral shade which is surprisingly nice on my pale skin! It's got just the right amount of pink hue to it! 
Sugarbomb is one I've only used a couple of times but it does look lovely, the 4 shades all mix really well together to make a subtle and buildable pinky hue on the cheekys and the purple kinda balances it out so it's not too OTT. 
Hoola, well... we all know about Hoola don't we? I knew I would love Hoola before I tried it 1) because its a bronzer and 2) it's quite similar to a shade I've tried before so it was a failsafe for me and didn't disappoint! It's the only matte shade in the palette and is a warm toned bronze and is perfect for contouring!!
Lastly is dandelion admittely I haven't really used this shade at all, I just thought it was far to pale for me but after looking in the book they give you with this they've suggested a great way to pair this with Hoola so I think I'm going to have to brave it and give it a go!

The best mascara ever?

For a while now I had been looking for a new mascara, I'm not big on Mascara and I've only every really owned the falsh lash effect one but I kept finding it was clumpy and if I wore contacts it would sometimes irritate my eyes. I was umming an aahing between the rollerlash or too faced's ' better than sex' mascara as both were getting raving reviews, knowing I could get this cheaper at the airport ( thanks VAT free prices!) I went for rollerlash. I'll be honest, this deserves all the cred it's getting, the wand is really small and thin which makes it perfect for lower lashes too. It's got like a curve in one side and even has tips for which parts of the brush to use to get different effects. When I used this, wow, every lash was separated and I mean every lash. I found pretty much no clumping, only when I ran the wand through several times did an occasional clump happen and it wasn't even that bad. I also felt like my eyelashes looked longer too, so it kinda looked like I had my Tanya Burr falsies in.  Downside? There isn't really any, I did find my eyes irritated a little but a lot less than with the false lash effect, also this doesn't smudge half as much as the falsh lash - bonus! February 2015 favourites

It's that time again!! Favourites! First I will start with the Charlotte Tilbury Palette in 'Vintage Vamp', I hadn't used this for a while and suddenly started loving having burgundy eyes this month! I always love using the pearl shade in my inner corners - it's just perfect to give my eyes that little pop!  next up we have the 'Boi-ing' concealer, I just love this under my eyes all soft and creamy it blends perfectly, This isn't fantastic on spots I find I prefer the collection 2000 concealer for that but this is a firm favourite!  Ever since I got Charlotte Tilburys 'Amazing grace' lipstick I haven't really wanted to wear any other pink. I just love this shade so much and it goes with most make up looks!  This month I have been loving my new Realtechniques brushes, in particular the crease brush which I find is also the perfect under eye brush, it's firmness means it's exccellent for smudging and blending too!! I really want to try out their contouring brush! And lastly a non-beauty favourite is RuPauls drag race, I may have become sliiightly obsessed with this after Jemma told me to watch it! Beauty: Benefit's - How to look the best at everything

I received this as a birthday present from one of my besties and I was so excited about it! I already have the porefessional and hello flawless foundation but since the NARS tinted  moisturiser entered my life they kinda took a side line. Now, it the complete opposite, I have turned to this everyday! Porefessional feels like CLOUDS. actual clouds on your face it is so soft and a small amount goes a long way, I use this mostly on my nose and t-section. The foundation is really soft and I don't feel it sitting on my skin or being all cakey. It doesn't make my skin feel oily either, I really rate this foundation!   I LOVE the concealer, it's so soft and smooth! I used to use benefits erase paste but I prefer this, I use both colours so I dot the lighter shade under the eye at each corner and use the darker shade in the middle and do a line along my cheek. This blends so well and I actually prefer this to my collection 2000 ( is that slightly controversial?) but I think it's probably because I prefer my concealer to be a bit thicker and more of a paste, if you get what I mean. The powder is great, the make up stays on all day, I can't honestly say if its better than my Rimmel stay matte powder which is probably a lot cheaper. My only bug bear with the powder in this is that you can't take it out, you can take all the other products out and they are a great size but if you wanted to powder up later you would have to take the whole thing.  You can actually take the whole thing out and use just the book as a little box, with it's tips and tricks this makes a great present. Beauty: January 2015 favourites

This month has been a mix of old and new favourites!!  Foundation & concealer wise I have been loving: Benefits - How to look the best at everything ( Review coming soon!). For months I put away my benefit products and stuck to my trusted NARS tinted moisturiser.... after receiving this as a gift I haven't stopped using it! But I'll save the rest for the review! ( gotta keep you all coming back! haha)  Next up, my love for Zoeva continues, I don't think any brushes will top these! I can't wait to get my mitts on the new rose gold eye collection! Such great value especially if you are looking to expand your Brush collection and well. ROSE GOLD. I'm just obsessed with it. I can't be the only one!? Blush & Bronzer wise I've gone back to this NARSicisst palette. Funnily enough I was thinking about selling this because I hadn't really used it much and the bronzer wasn't as pigmented as my Rimmel one. I thought, okay this cost me quite a bit so...one last chance. And that was all it needed. I love the blush and bronzer combo and even love how subtle the bronzer is by itself! Absolutely a Keeper! ( though I'm faaar to white for the highlight) L'oreal Superliner is the only thing I can apply eyeliner with, I've tried barry M, pencils, I've even got an eyeliner gel pot but nothing compares to the ease and pigmentation of this baby!  Over christmas I got super lax with my cleansing routine and this past month I've really gotten back into my ' quick cleanse' using Good Things Deep Pore.You can read a more detailed review here. Lastly, my latest lipstick, I can't describe just how much I love this, I think it really is my favourite lipstick ever.( I really mean EVER) sooo soft. sooo creamy. sooo beautiful. Hey guys!
 So here it is! My very first vlog!! Go easy on me because everything that could go wrong did! Lost my tripod so the original video I wanted to do I couldn't so I thought I would do something pretty easy:

My daily make up routine! Basically I get up real early and I have like 15 minutes ( pretty much always less then this) to do my make up, so this is a eaaasssy daily make up look you can do in no time!
As I thought trying to add text on top was a little too much for my first video I'll do a run through here:

1) Prime face with- Benefit: Porefessional
2) Apply foundation -Benefit:  Hello Oxygen
3) Apply - Rimmel: Stay Matte powder
4)Apply Blush (/bronzer & Highlighter in this case!) - Urban decay: Naked Flushed
5) Shape eyebrows - MAC: Mystery
6)Apply eyeshadow- Urban Decay Naked 3 : Nooner ( also blend this in on the creases)
7) Highlight underbrows - Urban Decay Naked 3: Strange ( Or Foxy in Naked 2)
8) Apply Eyeliner - L'oreal: superliner
9) Apply Mascara - Rimmel: Scandaleyes
10) Apply concealer - Benefit: Erase Paste Shade 2

I just want to add that Adobe Premiere pro is heaaaaaaaaaaaps easier then Windows movie maker which kept crashing on me!! This was so easy to use, if you haven't used it before there are a lot of tutorials on youtube but its quite easy to pic up, and I am horrendous with technology!! You can trial it for free on Adobes creative cloud along with other adobe products which is amazing!

Any suggestions or comments in video editing are appreciated! Let me know what you think of the video and what are your daily essentials?
I have an idea for a make up look next week I am beyond excited about, what did you think about the no speaking format? I couldn't quite get the hang of talking to the camera so I thought this would be easier to start off with especially as it is a pretty straight forward look. Anyway here it is the finished video!

Beauty: Review - Lord and Berry Foundation & Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation

Hello everyone!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Hope you all had an amazing christmas and new year. I got back yesterday from home and it was loverrrly. 

I got some really amazing presents like some GHDs and a MAC Palette, some bags, a new wallet and so many other gorgeous things! 

Today I got two cheeky shades for my MAC palette that I will feature quicky. I went to MAC with the aim to get Cranberry as I had a £10 voucher. However they were out of stock!! Gutted so immediately I fell in love with Plum Dressing, however I have a list of shades I wanted, and thought it might be more practical to get a brown shade that was on the list, that I could use for my brows.So it was Head Vs Heart: when we looked at Haux there was one in stock. it was like fate..... it became mine!! ....And so did Plum Dressing. Oops. 

Anyway!! Let's get onto the main reason for this post. 

So last year I was looking for a new foundation to swap too as I felt that throughout the day the L'oreal True Match was getting quite oily and I could feel it sat on my skin. 

So Lord and Berry had a creme foundation I was really interested in and with fate again my foundation ran out the day before I went home, Luckily there was a stand in Dubai mall. So I bought the foundation and thought sweeeeet. ITS GOT A SCREW CAP. because one of my biggest pet peeves is the lid coming off my foundation and it spilling all over my other make up. So the shade I got was almond, which isn't the shade I wanted I think it was a little darker but a white girl in a sunny country, obviously they wont stock my shade. I got the shade anyway and when i first used it my initial thought was its thick. It came out a lot thicker then the L'oreal. However with the RealTechniques expert face brush is spread beauuuuutifully on my face. The shade didn't look wrong either which I was chuffed with. So all in all loved it. 

HOWEVER. 

On christmas eve I was going to do a cheeky top up and sometimes when trying to squeeze out product it would get quick stuck and hardly anything would come out. so I went to do my top up and this was a time nothing was coming out so..... naturally. I squeezed a little harder then. BOOM. EXPLOSION. foundation was EVERYWHERE. Absolutely gutted. That photo is the aftermath!  I went back to the store to see if I could get one exchange and it had gone!!! Couldn't believe it!! So whilst walking around the mall my mate said she had the Stay Flawless Foundation from Benefit, I swatched it and it felt really light, had a nice ivory shade so today I bought one. She tried it out on my face so I have worn in all day. Honestly, it doesn't fell like I have any on and when I run my finger over it I don't FEEL that foundation sat on my skin another bonus is it has SPF in it, which for fair skin is really good, I think its gonna be really helpful at festivals to know I have some protection on my face.. I have combination skin and this seems so far to really work keeping down the oil.  She did say I would need to do a top up throughout the day which is expected. I also ended up buying the Porefessional which is a product I have been looking at for a while, as I don't use any primers just a nivea moisturiser, the combination seems to be working so far. I might do an update in a few weeks on how I feel then although the lid does feel heaps more secure and the Hello flawless comes with a Porefessional tester, They are a little pricey the two coming up to £50 but they seem worth it to me!
