Charlotte Tilbury mini lipstick charms

For my birthday my amazing team at work got me this lovely set of mini lipsticks! £29.99 may seem like quite a lot for 3 mini lipsticks but when you think that 1 of these costs around £23 and this is half the size it kinda works out, plus you get to try 3 different lipsticks. I hadn't tried any of these shades before except for swatching ' bitch perfect' and deciding I HAD to have it. You also get ' So Marilyn' and ' Penelope Pink' in the set, I was surprised by Penelope pink as I hadn't given it much thought, thinking it wasn't quite my shade but it's actually a gorgeous brown-y nude whereas bitch perfect is a little more pink. So Marilyn is a gorgeous deep red, very similar to MAC's Russian Red except it's a little more deeper and less matte.

All of these have the great quality you would expect from Charlotte Tilbury, smooth, moisturising and creamy on the lips and these are perfect to pop in your bag for a night out! They have a good lasting on the lips as well. I honestly would purchase all of these in the larger form which really isn't helping with my bank balance and the need to save - if I had to choose one first it would still be 'Bitch perfect'. You can't get this anymore as I think it's a christmas edition but I hope this helps if you wanted an individual shade - though I don't think I need to say too much to swade anyone to purchase CT - I hope next year she does a few more varieties of colour choices.

which is your favourite shade? x

A Charlotte Tilbury nude you need in your life

charlotte tilbury matte revolution norma parkinson miss kensington
Safe to say my nude obsession is still going strong, after lusting after Bitch Perfect for so long another CT nude popped up and caught my attention.... CT's Miss Kensington. I Umm'd and Ahh'd about this because I looked at loads of different swatches to figure out how it may look on me. Easiest thing to do? try it on in store!! I'm sure you've guessed the rest of the story I bought it straight away and it was everlasting love there onwards.
This is a fantastic nude and I feel the colour does adapt to the colour of your lips. It's a subtle pinky nude and looks really natural on the lips which I have to be careful of having fatter than average lips. As per all CT products the quality is amazing and this is soft and moisturising. It has a good colour stay but I do find I have to reapply but this is probably another downfall of fat lips as it's more obvious when the colour starts to fade. At £23 I think it's worth spending that little bit more to get and as it's limited edition I would recommend snapping one up fast!

A potential skincare staple?

alpha-h pigment reducing vitamin C serum
At the #nwmeet we were given some amazing products to try. One of them was this vitamin C serum by Alpha-H with the aim of improving the look of dull, tired, sun damaged and prematurly aging skin.Alpha-H also use one of Charlotte Tilburys favourite ingredients in this - Hyaluronic acid.
They state:
Grape Seed and Liquorice Extracts together with New Generation Technology are blended with Botanicals to cleanse the skin and gently remove dirt and oil from clogged pores. Locking in essential moistures and keeping the skin hydrated, the high performance formula helps to reduce pigmentation on the skin whilst improving skin tone and texture. Providing ongoing protection, Vitamin C Serum repairs damaged skin cells caused by the intense heat of the sun and acne breakouts whilst preventing future skin damage.

I've been using this daily and I do notice a difference when I haven't been using this mostly in the pigmentation. My skin is visibly less red when I use this! The smell of this isn't particularily nice but it does feel refreshing on the skin and soaks up nice and quickly which means I don't have to wait long to start applying make up.

I do really love using this but with a price tag of £58.50 I'll have to find a cheaper alternative - I'm thinking the Pai rosehip oil but if anyone could recommend one that would be fantastic!

Charlotte Tilbury light wonder foundation

I'm in love, like actually in love with this.... is it possible to be in love with a foundation? Like all things at the Charlotte Tilbury counter this really hasn't disappointed ( if you couldn't tell by my outburst) and has left me wanting MORE.
Since my trusty NARS tinted moisturiser finished I was debating picking up another bottle or getting a CT foundation. Let's be honest, it wasn't much of a debate, that gorgeous rose gold packaging drew me in very easily.
I knew she had a new foundation coming out so I popped instore to figure out which to get and after speaking with the sales assistant we figured this would be the best option for me. Just to give you the low down, generally I like my foundation very light. I don't like feeling it on my skin especially as I have combination skin and my forehead and chin can get incredibly oily. So the light wonder has a lighter more build-able coverage then the magic foundation which is a more medium to heavy coverage.
The NARS tinted moisturiser was lovely don't get me wrong, I would really repurchase it but I did find my chin and forehead still getting quite oily. BUT. oh god, I had been touching my chin all day the first time I wore this like some absolute weirdo because the CT light wonder really doesn't make it feel that oily at all! It feels, hmm, I'm not 100% sure how to describe I guess it felt silky-ish in my oily spots. The coverage is really good and apart from the fact I kept touching my face in one area it stayed most of the day and  I found it covered my redness really well though there was room to comfortably add a little more if I wanted to.
The next day I didn't touch my face and it lasted all day and literally felt like I had nothing on and no oilyness! The girl at the counter also put on a lot more on me then I usually would when we tested it out and it still felt really light. At £32 I think that's a fair enough price at 40ml, which is slightly smaller then the 50ml NARS moisturiser but for all the extra goodness you can't complain and it definitely out shines NARS. ( sorry NARS)
The girl at the counter was so lovely and tested out several products on me like the cleansing balm and the magic cream along with the retoucher and powder. Saaaaaafe to say even more products have been added to my CT wishlist - someone want to get me the Norma Parkinson highlighter? ...any takers?...no?

February 2015 favourites

It's that time again!! Favourites!
First I will start with the Charlotte Tilbury Palette in 'Vintage Vamp', I hadn't used this for a while and suddenly started loving having burgundy eyes this month! I always love using the pearl shade in my inner corners - it's just perfect to give my eyes that little pop!
next up we have the 'Boi-ing' concealer, I just love this under my eyes all soft and creamy it blends perfectly, This isn't fantastic on spots I find I prefer the collection 2000 concealer for that but this is a firm favourite!
Ever since I got Charlotte Tilburys 'Amazing grace' lipstick I haven't really wanted to wear any other pink. I just love this shade so much and it goes with most make up looks!
This month I have been loving my new Realtechniques brushes, in particular the crease brush which I find is also the perfect under eye brush, it's firmness means it's exccellent for smudging and blending too!! I really want to try out their contouring brush!
And lastly a non-beauty favourite is RuPauls drag race, I may have become sliiightly obsessed with this after Jemma told me to watch it! I can't wait for the new season to start in March!!
What have been your favourites this month??

Beauty: Charlotte Tilbury lip liner in Pillow Talk

The topic of many a blogger wishlist: Charlotte Tilbury's 'pillow talk' - described as the perfect nude. This is a most wanted for a reason and although a excellent/ much cheaper alternative had been found, I still had to own this. I am a massive fan of CT's lip products and had to see if this lived up to the hype.
It does. simple as that, it's an amazing nude with great coverage - my lips but better. It's creamy, soft and moisturising and yes the £16 price tag is a hefty one but I think Charlotte has proved her products are more than worth the price. It is definitely a treat product and I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again. I struggled to find a highstreet product that matched it and Rimmel's 'East end Snob' was the closest I could find. 'Pillow talk' has a little bit more of a browny hue to it and..well... who can deny how stunning the CT packaging is?
The guys at the CT counter in Manchester are super lovely and she even gave me two ' Bitch perfect' samples which just makes me want it even more! Definitely my next purchase!
What do you think of this product?

Beauty - Rimmel lip liner in ' Eastend snob' a.k.a the ' pillow talk' dupe!

Whoa. Sorry I didn't put a warning for the mega face shot there! Last month I gave away CT pillow talk and just couldn't afford it for myself. I was devastated, everyone is raving about it! I searched through boots for a cheaper alternative and couldn't find one anywhere. The other week I went round again on another desperate search,as a fellow blogger had said No7's nude was a good option but I found it too brown to what I remembered. I went back to Rimmel and saw this shade and thought this looks like a match!
The shade is in the exaggerate range in 'Eastend snob'
I really like this lip pencil, it's just as soft and creamy and may only fall slightly short of CT. the nib is a cool slant which is super easy to apply & it looks great on. I would say it's a little pinkier then CT pillow talk but if you see the photo above it's only a slight difference at £3.99 you can't really complain! £12 cheaper this is a fantastic alternative!
I don't really use lip liners so this is something I am trying to get more into and this does make a great base, it's very similar to my own lip colour too so I have used this by itself.
Tell me some of your favourite lip liners!
Ciao x
P.S I've got a post coming up before the end of the month on Pillow Talk so you can see the difference on my lips!

Beauty: January 2015 favourites

This month has been a mix of old and new favourites!!
Foundation & concealer wise I have been loving: Benefits - How to look the best at everything ( Review coming soon!). For months I put away my benefit products and stuck to my trusted NARS tinted moisturiser.... after receiving this as a gift I haven't stopped using it! But I'll save the rest for the review! ( gotta keep you all coming back! haha)
Next up, my love for Zoeva continues, I don't think any brushes will top these! I can't wait to get my mitts on the new rose gold eye collection! Such great value especially if you are looking to expand your Brush collection and well. ROSE GOLD. I'm just obsessed with it. I can't be the only one!?
Blush & Bronzer wise I've gone back to this NARSicisst palette. Funnily enough I was thinking about selling this because I hadn't really used it much and the bronzer wasn't as pigmented as my Rimmel one. I thought, okay this cost me quite a bit so...one last chance. And that was all it needed. I love the blush and bronzer combo and even love how subtle the bronzer is by itself! Absolutely a Keeper! ( though I'm faaar to white for the highlight)
L'oreal Superliner is the only thing I can apply eyeliner with, I've tried barry M, pencils, I've even got an eyeliner gel pot but nothing compares to the ease and pigmentation of this baby!
Over christmas I got super lax with my cleansing routine and this past month I've really gotten back into my ' quick cleanse' using Good Things Deep Pore. You can read a more detailed review here.
Lastly, my latest lipstick, I can't describe just how much I love this, I think it really is my favourite lipstick ever.( I really mean EVER) sooo soft. sooo creamy. sooo beautiful. Best voucher & money combo ever spent! I did a full review of this here.
What have been your favourites this month?

Beauty: Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Amazing Grace

The worst thing about this lipstick? trying to pick it!!! I had an idea in my head of which shades I would go for to try and make it easier and this wasn't on the list. I had googled, read blogs, viewed countless swatches and studied all the shades. In my head at the top of the list was Bitch Perfect (- sadly this was out of stock) ; I knew I wanted a pink/nudey shade. Though Love Liberty and Glastonberry were very nearly going to override that want. We swatched various shades and as soon as the girl swatched this I was like - oh my gosh! We swatched a few more but I couldn't stop looking at how pink this was and decided this was the one
I won't lie, I had a minor panic attack on the bus home, what if it was TOO PINK? I have quite big lips and some shades can make my lips look awful or they look fake. But when I took this out the packaging I knew I had made the right decision. Tried it on and it was a match made in heaven. I can't stop wearing this!
Like my other CT lippie this just glides on, it's so creamy and is just as moisturising even though it's matte. It's got great lasting power as well and as per all her products it looks great.
Can someone just donate me a heck of a lot of money so I can buy them all!??!
Which shade are you lusting after?

P.s I promise I'm going to get this taking pics of my lips thing down!

Lipsticks

Palettes

Beauty - 5 Winter lipsticks

I love winter, I love the dark tones, the faux fur, the leather, I love it all.( apart from the cold. I really don't love that.) I don't usually separate between summer and winter in terms of make up or fashion, I think the most I have done is swap from foundation to tinted moisturiser. But there is something about winter that makes everyone want to get their Burgundy lipsticks out so I though I would put my two cents in and show you the 5 shades I have ' for winter'.

- Charlotte Tilbury: Night Crimson
- Mac: Hearts Aflame
- Rimmel: Kate Moss 107
- Topshop Lip Bullet : Wine Gum  ( the don't sell this anymore but they have  another shade called Bewitched which is equally as nice)
- Mac Russian Red ( this isn't particularily wintery or dark but I love it so and I will probably wear this to any christmas parties with some gold eyeshadow...)

Another lipstick I used to own was Topshops Hazard which for £8 is ideal and a beautiful shade.

What are your favourite dark reds?

How To: Crimson Lips.

Hello!

So... my first ever... how to! Like I said it is just going to be small things in the how to's so I thought I would start with Crimson lips as my Charlotte Tilbury lipstick came today and I am beyond excited to wear it!

The Lip pencil is called Savage Rose and the lipstick is called Night Crimson - both are extremely soft, I actually didn't expecct the pencil to be as soft as it was which is why the lip line I drew was horrendous! haha!

1. Get some lip balm on those lips!
2. Outline your lip
3. Shade it with the lip pencil
4. chuck on that lipstick!

Ta-Da! Easy as!

Now Charlotte Tilbury make up is a little expensive and I only invested as a treat so if you can't afford to splurge £23 on a lipstick ( and to think my heart used to break when spending £15 on a MAC lipstick!!) I did have a nosy in boots and found Revlon came the closest to a high-street alternative with the colour stay lip liner in plum and the super lustrous lipstick in Black Cherry. - These are just the closest in looks I can't say for feel or quality but the CT duo are just so soft and dewy they don't feel like they are going to dry out at all - even without the pre lip balm added!!  If you wanted to get crimson lips minus the lip liner try topshops: Bewitched or Beguiled.

What's your favourite crimson shades?

Beauty - First ever Charlotte Tilbury order.

Hey guys,

So this post is going to be about my first ever experience with Charlotte Tilbury make up, I ordered the products on the 26th March and they arrive 3 days later!! Can't complain with that! Now when I opened the box, I'm not going to lie, I was kinda a little obsessed with the packaging... does this happen to anyone else? It was just this gorgeous plummy paper with a letter about my order with all the products and 3 little lipstick samples!

I essentially ordered the Vintage Vamp make up look, thanks too le Happy I have become obsessed with crimson lips!! So initially I was juts going to get the eye palette but couldn't resist the lip pencil and lipstick! All the products are gorgeous I haven't tested out the eye shadows apart from the gold one - which wasn't quite what I was expecting, I expected an all over gold shade like as if I was putting half baked over my eyelid but what it actually is is a gold shimmer - I think thats the best way to describe it, so let's say you have a nice purple eye shadow on but want to add some more excitement? pop a layer of this on top to get a golden sparkle on top of your purple.

The lipstick and lip liner are soooo soft and smooth. Sometimes the topshop or MAC lipsticks don't feel as creamy - that's the best way to describe it, I don't feel as if I HAVE to put lipbalm on underneath with this. I am going to put up a mini-tutorial on crimson lips later on in the week with some more detail on the products.

The lipstick samples were so much fun! you essentially have a little envelop that you pull the tester from peel off the plastic and basically put your lips on it like as if you were blotting them. The colours looked surprisingly good considering I don't usually go for nudes THAT nude, I tend to go for mauve tints and well I knew the blotting wasn't going to go fantastic for the red but I don't think my camera shows off how nice this was its a really bright red though it doesn't look like that on the website.

All in all I am super happy with them! Yes it was £77 in total which IS A LOT for make up but when you think about it, its around £40 quid for a MAC quad anyway and you are getting something different with this, as far as I am aware you can't get a golden shimmer like that with any of the MAC shades. They have definitely put time and effort into each order going out so I am saving up now to buy some more products! I have my eyes on a few of the palettes and an eye khol that has just come out!

Have you guys ordered any of her products?
Which are you favourite?

Beauty -Spring 2014 Beauty Wishlist

Hey guys!
So this post is pretty lame but I'm still seriously ill and I just want to rest. I did kind of want to stop doing wishlists but I thought one last one wouldn't hurt! :)

1. Ambient lighting blush - Mood Exposure : I don't know what it is about these blushes but the inner artist in me is screaming to buy them all! They are just stunning! Looking at all of this I think Mood Exposure will be my first purchase of the lot! It seems to have quite a mauve tone similar to the Topshop blush - Dream phone that I just bought.

2. Bumble and bumble - City Swept : I've been eyeing this because it looks like a quick fix texturising spray and I think it would be perfect for work when I've taken my helmet off ( I drive a motorbike) to give my hair a little more oompf and a little less helmet hair.

3. Zoeva - Rose gold brush collection : Not gonna lie, I have been eyeing this up for months now, imagine my devastation when I finally get the money and it's out of stock!!! ( this seems to be a reoccuring theme here, definitely need to win the lottery!! ) I am obsessed with rose gold and the thought of it being on my brushes is too exciting! You get 8 essential brushes and a gorgeous elegant bag to put them all in! Perfect for travelling!

4.NARS -  Narcissist Eye palette : I did actually reserve one of these. I think I missed the call and it is sold out AGAIN. I umm'd and ahh'd about this because it had mixed reviews but the more I can't have it the more I HAVE to have it.Those two purple toned shades NEED to be in my life.

5. Charlotte Tilbury - Vintage Vamp Palette : You can never have enough eye palettes. This one is gorgeous! 4 colours that work so well together and give a new take on the 'smokey eye'

6. Estee Lauder - Pure colour envy lipstick in Rebellious Rose: I have a list of these lipsticks that I want but this is the chart topper. Nice mauve tone I think would be perfect for day to day! ( do you notice a natural mauve theme in my products?!)

7. Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores - I have a pore complex. I just hate them and I will try anything to get rid of them!! I've heard a lot of amazing reviews about origins and I think this would be an ideal first purchase! I really want to up my beauty routines this year.

8.Living proof - primer : As I mentioned above. helmet hair is not a cool look, neither is windblown-to-fuck hair; which always seems to happen to me! I've seen really good reviews about how this helps hair to stay put for days!

9. Korres - Wild rose + Vitamin C sleeping mask: As I mentioned above I really want to up my beauty game in the sense of getting better at cleansing and taking care of my skin. I use a nivea night cream but I am unsure how I feel about it so I think this is going to be the next contender for my night cream staple.

Let me know your reviews of these products or if your lusting after them too!
Sorry this post wasn't more exciting * cough* I'm sick.

Ciao x

P.S let's not forget that pretty much ALL of MAC is on my wishlist, I just couldn't feature them all!
