ASOS wishlist

Christmas is the season for...wishlists! I am the kind of person that adds a million and one things to their ASOS basket, I then tend to watch the items on the cat walk a few times go away and come back to decide if I really want it. To be honest most of the time I can't actually afford to buy anything and must wistfully watch my items till that horrible red out of stock banner comes up.

Here's a few things I'm dreaming of this christmas.

1) ASOS Pencil Skirt in Floral Print on Texture : surprisingly I am not a fan of this as a co-ord but I do love this skirt. I think it would look stunning with a black cami or bralet. Accessorise with a hot pink clutch for bonus points.

2)ASOS Skater Skirt with Stripe Elastic Waistband I've been wanting a skirt like this ever since Beautycrush showed a white one in a haul. I think it would be great for a sports Luxe look!

3)ASOS Skort in Printed Marble Scuba I just LOVE marble prints, I also really love skorts because I  am not the most ladylike when I sit or bend down and this has got me covered!

4)ASOS Mini Skirt in Leather Look I've been after a leather mini skirt for ages, I think it's a perfect item to dress up or down for dates or gigs.

5) ASOS Fine Rib Knitted Turban Hat I have this in black and burgundy and I LOVE them, perfect for a bad hair day, perfect to keep your ears and head warm in winter. EVERYONE should have one!

6) ASOS Lace Swing Dress with High Neck I reaaaaaallly want a swing dress. plus its burgundy and lace - what's not to love? I just wish my works do wasn't black and white or I would have been all over this! ( for anyone who may point out this comes in black, it ain't got nothing on burgundy!)

7) ASOS AFRICA Mono Floral Print Playsuit OH. MY. GOD it was lust at first sight with this, everytime I look at it I am like can I buy it? ( the bank says no but my heart says YES!) It reminds me of an artist I saw at uni and I just love this print!

8) ASOS Poodle Print Envelope Clutch Bag As I thnk we all know I love prints and there is something about this colour combo I really like.

9) ASOS Cocktail Rings Multipack I need more rings, I really want to start wearing more, this a gorgeous little set!

10)ASOS Double Bridge Cat Eye Sunglasse I love cat eye glasses. I also really love tortoiseshell. I think these will be perfect for festivals!

what are you wishing for?

Depop.

A slightly shameful self promotion post today.
Sorry.
But I am selling some goodies on my Depop. - @Lauzofarabia.

got some topshop, UO, Zara, ark....all sorts - some with tags!
I also have some cheap tank tops I have made myself ( which may not be the most amazing things ever but see below... )

I'm promoting this as I need to raise some money to start my clothing line as its getting quite difficult to get the start up! I also really need some money for oil paints as there is a open call for artists I really want to enter and I have literaaly zero oil paint things! Please have a gander and figners crossed you see something you like :)

Thanks

Style: Parklife 2014

Parklife never fails to be an amazing weekend! This is my 4th year and it's crazy how big it has got!! Sunday trumped saturday for me. Top acts: Sam Smith, Bastille and Disclosure who were all beyond amazing live! Another mention is clean bandit who were so good live! I really wasn't expecting it! Also caught some of Mistajam who was banging out so tunnesss, it wasn't my intention to see Snoop Dogg ( controversial) but after 10 minutes of Duke Dumont -  I went back and really enjoyed Snoop, I didn't think I knew all that many songs - Turns out I do!

Here's my Saturday outfit:

Co-ords: Ark
Lipstick: MAC - Red Balloon( I'm now obsessed with this!)
 - Avec wellies of course.

style: The almost Co-ord.

I saw this on Emily Cocklin and fell in love with this Lauren pope for inthestyle playsuit. For me this is going to go perfect with a leather jacket, red lip and some black ankle boots. I won't lie I really thought this was a Co-ord dogtooth set when I ordered it. There is a sneaky layer of mesh underneath the top that connects the two.... Which I am actually a little glad about!

I got this with the aim of it being an outfit option for the Arctic monkeys gig this weekend. I will take a full outfit picture of what I do wear and post next week! I was just really excited about this and felt like posting!

How would you style this?

Style SS14 trend: Co-ords

I think its official. I'm in love with Co-ords and I think the fashion world is too...ASOS, Missguided, motel...topshop everyone!
Everyone is loving matching your top and bottoms wether its crop tops and shorts, maxi skirts... the options are endless. For me its about patterns and tailoring. I've ordered myself a Tartan pair from Laura ralph designs perfect for festivals!! I think the best way to style them is to keep everything else to a minimum and let the clothes do the talking!
Here's some of my favs:

Style. Met Ball 2014 top 5.

Everyone is talking about it I know, I just had to get my two cents in about my favourite looks of the night.

I had 5 favourite looks and 1 extra mention.

My extra mention is Claire Danes who looks beaut but just short of my top 5.
who is rocking a dress with Velvet in it and I actually don't shudder at the sight of it! ( I reaaally don't like velvet on clothes....or anything really.)

5.Lui Wen : Not gonna lie I have no idea who she is but there is something so stunning about this gown! The colour, the way it fits and falls, a lot of people tried for dresses that were fitted and then ' poofed' out and failed. Extra points for the bust shape.  Leighton Meester was VERY VERY nearly here. Tough call.

4. Jessica Pare. No idea who she is either ( Oh dear...) but when I first saw this I couldn't stop staring at it, I was like do I like this? do i? and then I was like, I really do. I a pattern freak and this has such a nice fit.

3. Rihanna. I did not for one moment think she would be one of my favourite looks. ( No offence Riri but we have completely different styles.) but I just loooove this look, it is so classic.

2. Amber heard. This juuusst beat Rihanna, only because I think I would suit it more on myself, and I really like the vintage feel this dress has.

1. Emma Stone. Babe. End of. I have seriously fashion envy when it comes to this lady and she did not disappoint just everything is perfect and I don't even like pink all that much!

What were your top looks?

How to: Hair scarf bow tie

Hey everyone!

So I thought I would do a quick and easy how to on tying a scarf round your head, you can use any scarf the one I am using is a light scarf from Topshop, it cost around £18 but I usually use vintage ones.  If its a large squarish shaped scarf like my vintage ones are just place the scarf down and fold it in half so it looks like a traingle and then roll it up!

1. Brush your hair out!

2. Dependant on how you want to style it, I used to always do a kind of ' Rockabilly ' style with a small quiff, you don't need to do this if you don't like it. This is also easier to do with a longer fringe! And I tie my hair up at the back - you can let this loose after.

3. Place the scarf on your head, if you struggle with the scarf moving around a lot, I do because my head is a weird shape, just pin the scarf in at this point.

4.Take the two sides and cross them over at the back and cross them again at the top and tie it up!

Ta-Da, told you it was simple didn't I?

Personal - Holiday & Blog update.

Hey everyone!

So, over the past few months I feel I have really managed to get into the swing of managing a blog, I will admit sometimes I have struggled to find something to post about, or I have had to rush a post ( i.e the ill week..) but I have really enjoyed it and seeing the views going up has just elated me to try even harder. Working a 9-5(ish) corporate job when you are a creative at heart can be very demoralising and running this blog has really helped me cope - secretly going through blogs and getting ideas ( I'm looking at you gh0stparties and nouvelle daily!!!) and getting excited about endless possibilities.

I have had a bit of a brainstorming sesh and I have just come up with so many idea's and plans that I want to put into this blog and really commit to it more then the twice a week I am posting and dedicate a lot more different types of posts - I am aware most of them are product reviews! I think I was a little scared to put myself out there but seeing that people; even if it is one or two a day or 25; reading my little thoughts has spurred me on and given me a confidence to go the whole hog and update more frequently. I think as well my posts/ pictures and writing style will start to synchronize over time to reflect my own style.

Now, from monday the next 3 weeks I shall be at home enjoying the rays and appreciating not having to answer a phone for 37.5 hours in the week. I won't implement my new plans but I am going to write up a couple of posts and set them to post on certain days( I haven't fully decided what posts and when - so you will need to check back for this) I know this is a bit of a cheat but it's that or nothing and I don't want my hard work to die down and like I said - I'm dedicated now! I just like to escape the internet as much as possible while I am home and truly get a break.

I am back on monday the 21st and from the Tuesday I will start planning and working on my new blog idea's so just to give you an insight:
M: VLOG - Monday is going to stay as a Vlog upload day!
T: Product review/ Trend posts (kinda thing.) I still want to review the products I am getting but I also want to focus every now and again on trends I am loving or even style I love - what happened to my style crushes?!
W: Outfit post. Fashion is a big thing for me and I really want to start featuring it more on my blog, I am not confident with my body and that's why I have been reluctant to do them but I want to break out my comfort zone and push myself, also now I do salsa I am getting back too late to dedicate to a full post so I wanted something easier to upload.
T:How to: how to do a nail look, how to do a hair style, how to style an accessory.... Thursdays are all about the mini how to's! Nothing over complicated because that would end up as a Vlog but the simpler ones I can explain in writing.
F: Make up look of the week. If there is a make up look I have done that week that I am proud of or a look I have attempted and it actually looks decent - I'll be blogging to let you know! ( Espcially the week I manage bigger and proper winged liner! )
S: VLOG - Originally I wanted to vlog twice a week but time didn't let me before but I have heaps of idea's I  think I will have the time to dedicate on a weekend to a second video.
S: Product review/feature - keeping it simple on a sunday, what I have already been doing!

What do you think of the new line up?? Anything you want me to feature or try let me know!
Ciao x

P.S look for some changes in the layout when I get back aswell!

ASOS Jumper - Lady and the Tramp, £30
New Look Boots £20 ( on sale)
Rimmel Apocalips - Galaxy and Across the Universe ( 2 for £9 in superdrug)
MAC eyeshadows - Mystery and Cranberry ( £10 each)
Urban Decay - Naked 3 Palette
H & M skirt
MAC Brush Cleanser £10
Lush shampoo bar - New ( £8.50ish... for pot and bar)
Bumble and Bumble - Super rich conditioner(£5.95) and defrizz ( £12.50)
L'oreal - super liner. (£ 9)
Maybeline BABY LIPS! - Intensive care & Cherry ( Around £3 each)

So that's everything!! What have you guys been buying this month?

January Haul

Hey guys!
Thought today's blog post would be about some of the things I bought/ was given (for birthday/Christmas) this month! I am in no way trying to brag about anything ( maybe except that I have amazing friends with amazing taste!!)

Okay so first up, I already blogged about some products in this picture, the Naked Flushed, Hello Oxygen foundation and Porefessional so I won't go into these. Also I just realised I bought the jewellery stand to the left which I think once I fully sort out my make up collection and storage I will do a whole post about that. The other stand was also from Urban Outfitters and that was a present from my sister!

So as you can see at the front are some RealTechniques brushes, the blush brush and expert face brush were presents from  work colleagues and I bought the eye-shadow brush as I had just lost my topshop one. The main thing I can say is, believe the hype about these brushes. I watched a lot of beauty bloggers/vloggers go on about these and I was like...are they really that good? I always used to use my fingers when applying foundation and I heard it helped add oils from your fingers to your face and at the time I had a really oily face all the time, also I had a MAC foundation brush and it was taking forever for me to get it all on and set on my face and when you have 20 minutes to get ready in the morning that's not ideal. The expert face brush is a revelation if you were to buy your first brush make it this one! I also found the eye-shadow brush picks up heaps more pigment then my Topshop one however I don't feel like it blends it as well so I usually have to go over the edges with a blending brush.

Secondly there are a few nail products: two Essie nail polishes and a nail buffer. One of my new year beauty resolutions is to take better care of my nails. So I bought a new Essie base coat ( it's the hydration one) and a buffer so I can start giving myself some proper manicures. The Essie nail colour is called ' All Tied Up' and if you go to Fragrance Direct most of the nail polishes are only £2.50!!!

The last couple of products are the Rimmel Scandaleyes, Lush Santa Scrub and MACs Sable frost eye-shadow. First of all I LOVE this eye shadow it was a gift from my friends and I had eyed it up for my palette. It's perfect for an everyday eye-shadow or even mixing with a darker shade for going out. The Lush santa scrub tastes DELICIOUS however I always wipe it off as you have lots of little dead skin once you've truly started to rub it in so the joy of taste is short-lived.  Lastly the Scandaleyes, to be honest I am still deciding how I feel about this, the brush shape is slightly weird and I can't decide if it is any better then my false lash mascara, I think I won't be repurchasing this.

Next up is this Oxblood bag from Topshop, this was a gift and I had always wanted a bag that opens up like a doctors bag, you know the way the sides are together when its closed and open into a sort of rectangle shape?! Maybe I'm a little weird like that but the fact the bag does this makes me insanely happy. It's the perfect sized bag and I generally can fit everything I need for the day in it, the way it closes also means no rain will get in and living in Manchester this is essential!!

These shoes I had been eyeing up for a while, I used to have some gorgeous ankle boots from River Island which I wore to death and I had been hunting for ages for a brown ankle boot replacement. Something about brown ankle boots in winter, I don't know! These were on sale from Topshop for £25 - I couldn't resist! I would just say is someone has laced these up mighty weird as the laces come from the bottom of the shoe not the top.

Lastly are two items of clothing both from Topshop, being January I was pretty broke so I couldn't go on mad ones, if you remember my last lust haves both these items featured and I got them both in the sale, the trousers for a tenner and the dress for £15. Happy days!

So that's all I've been buying/receiving. Even though I need to be careful with money in Feb I have eye'd up a lot of MAC products that may need to be mine.....

What have you guys been buying? Or what did you get for christmas that you loved??

Ciao x
