A real cheeky party....

At Christmas I KNEW something I had to ask for was the benefit's real cheeky party set. Getting more bronzers and blushes is on my list as I really want to expand out. I also really want to try out new blush colours and thought this is the perfect opportunity to do so! at £29.50 this is an absolute bargain!  You get 5 different shades, concealer, mascara and eyeliner! BARGAAAIN. I'm just going to talk a little about the shades themselves here.

I've wanted to try the Rockateur shade for quite a while but could never afford it and it didn't disappoint, for someone easing themselves into the world of blush I found this was a great one to start with. I really loved this and it made me much more open to trying out coralista. Rockatear is kinda like a mauve/rose shimmery pink.

Coralista was also a surprise love, I didn't think a shade like that would suit me but I've found myself reaching for it quite a lot. As the name suggests it's a gorgeous coral shade which is surprisingly nice on my pale skin! It's got just the right amount of pink hue to it!

Sugarbomb is one I've only used a couple of times but it does look lovely, the 4 shades all mix really well together to make a subtle and buildable pinky hue on the cheekys and the purple kinda balances it out so it's not too OTT.

Hoola, well... we all know about Hoola don't we? I knew I would love Hoola before I tried it 1) because its a bronzer and 2) it's quite similar to a shade I've tried before so it was a failsafe for me and didn't disappoint! It's the only matte shade in the palette and is a warm toned bronze and is perfect for contouring!!

Lastly is dandelion admittely I haven't really used this shade at all, I just thought it was far to pale for me but after looking in the book they give you with this they've suggested a great way to pair this with Hoola so I think I'm going to have to brave it and give it a go!

Which is your favourite benefit shade?  xx

Nyx soft matte lip creams - Abu Dhabi & Copenhagen

I'm obsessed with matte lip creams, after getting my red one from Sephora I just chose to wear it whenever I reached for a red & also they are perfect for festivals or hot country's so you don't have to worry about them melting. As we don't have a Sephora here I needed to find an alternative. I think I first saw these when I was having a cheeky browse on Instagram and found there was one called Abu Dhabi. If you didn't know that's where I grew up and I knew I just had to buy it because that's what it was called! I know you shouldn't do that but OH WELL. I DID. and it turns out it was the best decision ever.
I didn't think it was going to suit me after looking online at swatches but it is the PERFECT shade for me. It literally matches my lips exactly ( insert the my lips but better she-bang here) and I also selected Copenhagen as it was a stunning berry shade and we all love a good berry shade for winter!
These lip creams are so soft and buttery, they feel nice and hydrating on the lips and take hardly any time to dry out and settle on your lips. The colour spreads really well and evenly. I was a bit worried about copenhagen as berry shades can come out really patchy on my lips, at first I thought it did look quite patchy but once it dried and settled it really evened out and looked great!
these are priced at £5.50 which is an absolute BARGAIN, I think I will have to stock up on Abu Dhabi and I am debating trying Stockholm or Cannes as well!!
Have you guys tried any of these? Which shades do you recommend?

Finally getting my hands on the tartelette palette

I knew as soon as I saw this palette I was going to own it. I asked a few friends to pick it up in america because the £45 they were asking on amazing was ridiculous! Anyway they both were unable to find it and I managed to get it from QVC for £28 which is around the asking price in the states anyway!
The packaging of this is stunning for all you fellow packaging geeks out there, I actually keep this in the box. I'm not sure why I just prefer it in the box! Overall you get 16 stunning matte shades from nudes to browns and light pinks to purples. Dreamer is a great alternate to MACs mystery for my eyebrows and natural beauty is a good dupe for the Naked 2 tease.  The colours all go really well together and blend really nicely, the light colours are good for some highlighting. You also get a really decent brush with it too and the mirror is big enough to do a lot of your make up.
This is definitely the perfect travel set! at £28 I think it was well worth the money!  I think my favourite shade has to be best friend.
What did you think of this palette?

Charlotte Tilbury light wonder foundation

I'm in love, like actually in love with this.... is it possible to be in love with a foundation? Like all things at the Charlotte Tilbury counter this really hasn't disappointed ( if you couldn't tell by my outburst) and has left me wanting MORE.
Since my trusty NARS tinted moisturiser finished I was debating picking up another bottle or getting a CT foundation. Let's be honest, it wasn't much of a debate, that gorgeous rose gold packaging drew me in very easily.
I knew she had a new foundation coming out so I popped instore to figure out which to get and after speaking with the sales assistant we figured this would be the best option for me. Just to give you the low down, generally I like my foundation very light. I don't like feeling it on my skin especially as I have combination skin and my forehead and chin can get incredibly oily. So the light wonder has a lighter more build-able coverage then the magic foundation which is a more medium to heavy coverage.
The NARS tinted moisturiser was lovely don't get me wrong, I would really repurchase it but I did find my chin and forehead still getting quite oily. BUT. oh god, I had been touching my chin all day the first time I wore this like some absolute weirdo because the CT light wonder really doesn't make it feel that oily at all! It feels, hmm, I'm not 100% sure how to describe I guess it felt silky-ish in my oily spots. The coverage is really good and apart from the fact I kept touching my face in one area it stayed most of the day and  I found it covered my redness really well though there was room to comfortably add a little more if I wanted to.
The next day I didn't touch my face and it lasted all day and literally felt like I had nothing on and no oilyness! The girl at the counter also put on a lot more on me then I usually would when we tested it out and it still felt really light. At £32 I think that's a fair enough price at 40ml, which is slightly smaller then the 50ml NARS moisturiser but for all the extra goodness you can't complain and it definitely out shines NARS. ( sorry NARS)
The girl at the counter was so lovely and tested out several products on me like the cleansing balm and the magic cream along with the retoucher and powder. Saaaaaafe to say even more products have been added to my CT wishlist - someone want to get me the Norma Parkinson highlighter? ...any takers?...no?

Topshop lipstick in lovestruck

The amount of Topshop lipsticks I own is quickly creeping up, at £8 a go they are an absolute bargain. I think the quality of these guys matches even MAC at times. Deliciously soft and creamy these definitely don't dry your lips out and colour pay out is pretty darn good.
The other day I had a look in the Topshop make up section and noticed a few new lipsticks and was like ohhhmygod, this one was initially sold out but thankfully Liverpool had one left. It's a gorgeous pinky rose shade, not far off MACs plumful and estee lauders rebellious rose.
I am still waiting for Topshop to bring back my beloved beatnik so I can stock up but I think this one will tide me over till then!
What's your favourite Topshop lipstick?

So...About that MAC lipliner everyone is talking about

beauty review MAC lip liner whirl
Over the last few months the blogging world has been going craaazzy for Kylie Jenner lips which involves two things: MACs 'whirl' and ' velvet teddy'. Using lip liners is something I am trying to get into so I decided while I was at the airport that ' whirl' was something that definitely needed to be added to my collection.
Initially I thought this would be quite nude but it is quite brownish with a hint of pink. When I first noticed how brown it was I was quite worried as I didn't think it would suit my pale skin but it still looked lovely on! Kinda like my lips but browner? like a hint of brown. At the moment I really like pairing this with Rimmels Kate Moss 03( which I reviewed here) for a nice browny-nude look but this is amazing by itself.
At around £13 is it worth the money? hmm I think so, MAC always is good quality and this lip liner matches up to that, I think it's got a good lasting time and a nice creamy feel to it so my lips don't feel too dry.
What did you think of it? x

The best mascara ever?

benefit rollerlash mascara beauty review
For a while now I had been looking for a new mascara, I'm not big on Mascara and I've only every really owned the falsh lash effect one but I kept finding it was clumpy and if I wore contacts it would sometimes irritate my eyes. I was umming an aahing between the rollerlash or too faced's ' better than sex' mascara as both were getting raving reviews, knowing I could get this cheaper at the airport ( thanks VAT free prices!) I went for rollerlash.
I'll be honest, this deserves all the cred it's getting, the wand is really small and thin which makes it perfect for lower lashes too. It's got like a curve in one side and even has tips for which parts of the brush to use to get different effects. When I used this, wow, every lash was separated and I mean every lash. I found pretty much no clumping, only when I ran the wand through several times did an occasional clump happen and it wasn't even that bad. I also felt like my eyelashes looked longer too, so it kinda looked like I had my Tanya Burr falsies in.
Downside? There isn't really any, I did find my eyes irritated a little but a lot less than with the false lash effect, also this doesn't smudge half as much as the falsh lash - bonus! Apart from that I'm really loving this at the moment!
What do you guys think of it?

Review: Topshop velvetine lipstick

beauty review topshop velvetine lip stain
A while back I debated getting a lip stain from Sephora(after all the hype) and decided to get something else instead and then get this from topshop after hearing a few good things about this one.  I am a massive advocate of Topshops beauty products but honestly? I was left more then a little disappointed with this one. I found when I applied this it was really patchy and I had to go over it with a lipstick to even out the colour. The colour itself is a lovely deep red very similar to MACs russian red ( which I went over it with).
I will say it did have good lasting power and when I just had the stain on it didn''t print on anything it was just a shame it was so patchy. For £10 I really don't think it is worth it and I'm going to invest in the Sephora version this month so look out for a review of that later!

Review : Maybelline colour tattoo x 3

Every blogger and I mean every blogger is talking about these, after trying a few creamy potted eyeshadow's and liking them I decided I needed to expand my colour range.... enter in the colour tattoo's. A lot of people had gone on about 'permanent taupe' but when it came to picking them out I felt ' Vintage plum' was a little more me. Since it was 3 for 2 in boots I felt it would be rude not to get the two other shades I had been lusting after ' Pink gold' and ' metallic pomegranate'. After my initial swatch pink gold is absolutely in the lead for my favourite shade. It's got a great pigmentation! I won't lie I didn't really read these properly so I didn't realise that ' vintage plum' was a leather effect. What does that even mean?! Leather effect?! Am I missing something here? Is this a posh way to say Matte? anyway all I know is it didn't swatch as half as well as the other two and I did wish I picked up permanent taupe.
I wore pink gold and it lasted all day and just a smooth as if I had just applied it right then. 'Metallic Pomegranate' is just as strong and beautiful by itself. I haven't had a chance to wear 'Vintage plum' but the second time I have tried to swatch it the colour pay off was much better so I am a little more optimistic about it now it is a really gorgeous grey-y lilac colour. I think it will make a perfect base to build a smokey purple eye on.
I tried to show you all a swatch of them but my lens has broken and my other doesn't want to co-operate with me :( sorry guys! (I'll try and get a pic up soon!)
For a £5er I think these are really worth it, the pots are a great size and they are worth the money. They make an excellent base/eye primer to build your make up on. I think I am going to invest in the taupe and bronze shade!
 Which shade is your favourite?

My top 5 MAC lipsticks so far

I haven't been as into MAC lately to be honest, I keep turning my lust have lists to Charlotte Tilbury and NARS but you can't deny MAC has got it when it comes to lipsticks. I own around 12 at the moment and I do I have quite a few on my list like  'Velvet Teddy' and 'Twig' as they have been real hyped up lately. In most blogger chats; a lot of the time it's  - what's your favourite MAC lipstick? so I thought I would share mine!
1. First up is Russian Red, I think this will always be my favourite and the one I will always pick when asked for my favourite. It's the one I know I can always depend on for a night out. The perfect classic red and not as drying as Ruby Woo.
2. Yield to Love is next up, this is a limited edition ( Sorry!) but as soon as I bought this I loved it, it's a beautiful mauve shade, my shade but better.
3. Red Balloon was an unexpected favourite, I don't usually go for bright pinks and this was an eye opener, I really want some more pinks. This was a limited edition as well ( sorry...again!) but MAC's 'all fired up' is a great alternative.
4. Next up we have plumful, this is a more purpley mauve, and lookss great on. I love to wear this to add a little more to my make up look rather then a colour similar to my own lips.
5. Lastly is Hearts Aflame, another limited edition ( SORRY, I really am!) this is a beautiful brick red, MACs Diva or Darkside would be a great alternatives.
What are your favourite shades?

Beauty: Benefit's - How to look the best at everything

I received this as a birthday present from one of my besties and I was so excited about it! I already have the porefessional and hello flawless foundation but since the NARS tinted  moisturiser entered my life they kinda took a side line. Now, it the complete opposite, I have turned to this everyday! Porefessional feels like CLOUDS. actual clouds on your face it is so soft and a small amount goes a long way, I use this mostly on my nose and t-section. The foundation is really soft and I don't feel it sitting on my skin or being all cakey. It doesn't make my skin feel oily either, I really rate this foundation!
I LOVE the concealer, it's so soft and smooth! I used to use benefits erase paste but I prefer this, I use both colours so I dot the lighter shade under the eye at each corner and use the darker shade in the middle and do a line along my cheek. This blends so well and I actually prefer this to my collection 2000 ( is that slightly controversial?) but I think it's probably because I prefer my concealer to be a bit thicker and more of a paste, if you get what I mean.
The powder is great, the make up stays on all day, I can't honestly say if its better than my Rimmel stay matte powder which is probably a lot cheaper. My only bug bear with the powder in this is that you can't take it out, you can take all the other products out and they are a great size but if you wanted to powder up later you would have to take the whole thing.
You can actually take the whole thing out and use just the book as a little box, with it's tips and tricks this makes a great present. ( I think I can say because I was beyond chuffed with it!)

Beauty: January 2015 favourites

This month has been a mix of old and new favourites!!
Foundation & concealer wise I have been loving: Benefits - How to look the best at everything ( Review coming soon!). For months I put away my benefit products and stuck to my trusted NARS tinted moisturiser.... after receiving this as a gift I haven't stopped using it! But I'll save the rest for the review! ( gotta keep you all coming back! haha)
Next up, my love for Zoeva continues, I don't think any brushes will top these! I can't wait to get my mitts on the new rose gold eye collection! Such great value especially if you are looking to expand your Brush collection and well. ROSE GOLD. I'm just obsessed with it. I can't be the only one!?
Blush & Bronzer wise I've gone back to this NARSicisst palette. Funnily enough I was thinking about selling this because I hadn't really used it much and the bronzer wasn't as pigmented as my Rimmel one. I thought, okay this cost me quite a bit so...one last chance. And that was all it needed. I love the blush and bronzer combo and even love how subtle the bronzer is by itself! Absolutely a Keeper! ( though I'm faaar to white for the highlight)
L'oreal Superliner is the only thing I can apply eyeliner with, I've tried barry M, pencils, I've even got an eyeliner gel pot but nothing compares to the ease and pigmentation of this baby!
Over christmas I got super lax with my cleansing routine and this past month I've really gotten back into my ' quick cleanse' using Good Things Deep Pore. You can read a more detailed review here.
Lastly, my latest lipstick, I can't describe just how much I love this, I think it really is my favourite lipstick ever.( I really mean EVER) sooo soft. sooo creamy. sooo beautiful. Best voucher & money combo ever spent! I did a full review of this here.
What have been your favourites this month?

Beauty: 2014 favourites.

Beauty: Review - MAC Pro paintpot in Soft Ochre

I've been lusting after this ever since I started watching EasyNeon's videos, it seemed like a perfect primer to get my eyelids prepped. I managed to get hold of this before doing mine and my  mates make up on friday and I think it sets a nice even shade for putting your eyeshadows on top.

I later used this for my works do and my eyeliner and shadow lasted till the next day! I'm really impressed with this.

I found you need to rub it with your finger to heat it up to make it more spreadable if that makes sense? I found I couldn't just put some straight on the brush to on my lids, but I didn't mind I usually use my fingers to prime my eyelids. Though it does have a lovely soft creamy feel to it.  You don't even need that much to set a good base so I think this pot is going to last quite a while and is fast going to become a staple in my make up case!

It is £15.50 which for mac isn't that expensive and I think when you look at other prices for primers it's not that bad.

Have you guys ever tried this out? Which are your favourite primers

Beauty: Rimmel Stay Blushed - Pop of pink!

I have a mild obsession with Alexa Chung.... I'm not ashamed to say!( C'mon now who doesn't love her!?) I was watching this Lisa Eldridge tutorial with her and they used this Rimmel cheek blush.

Now I don't usually stray from powder blushes or bronzers but this looked quite interesting so I thought... why not?... let's have a look at it. Honestly when I scouted it out online I thought I would go for the Sunkissed Cherry shade, being a self-confessed bronzer fanatic. But. But when I went in store I much preferred the pop of pink and decided to go with this one.

Now I haven't completely strayed, I like to add this on top of a light bronze, I simple squirt a teeeeny amount on one finger dab my other finger on it a few times then dab it on the apples of my cheeks and keep dabbing till it's blended and I love it! Espcially with my Rimmer bronzer, it's really subtle and has definitely opened my eyes to try other blushers like this!! I really hope they do some other shades in this! At £4.49 that's a really good price I feel.

Have you guys ever tried this before?

Ciao x

Beauty: Urban Decay Naked Basics 2

Everyone is blogging about this little palette... maybe you don't need another post telling you how amazing this is but here is my 2 cents....

When the Basics palette came out, it just wasn't for me the colours were just too far, the black too dark and the pales too light for my poor pale skin, it was all too harsh. The middle shades didn't really looks like ones I would use either.

Then I saw the naked basics 2 on instagram and I knew. I just knew it was going to be the one I couldn't let pass me by. The muted black, the softer beige and the stunning taupe-browns. This was the travel palette for me. There isn't a single colour I wouldn't use, they work amazingly together as well and I have used this every single day since I bought it!

This retails around £22 which I would say is definitely worth it, if you are familiar with the quality of urban decay eye shadows you'll understand they are worth every penny, I have yet to hit pan on any of my naked palettes, I think this could be the first palette I do that on...

I actually bought this for £15.40 on cohorted where you basically can get discount on the product depending on when you buy it I think. the more people that buy it the more it goes down, something like that until it can't go down anymore. I don't 100% understand but basically each week there are 4 new products you can get a discount on, and these can be some amazing beauty products - MAC lipsticks, too faced palettes, realtechniques brushes all sorts, you gotta be quick though and get it before everyone else. The postage is free within the first month and posts really quickly. I really recommend getting yourself registered onto this place!

Whats your best cohort bargain? What do you think of this palette?

Ciao x
