Beauty review MAC Angel lipstick
Sunday, 8 March 2015
This was the first MAC lipstick I ever bought, I was in love with this colour, nude-y pink( more pink!). I just couldn't make it work for me at the time and ended up giving it to a friend as it suited her more. Over December I had been toying to going back to trying a shade similar to this because I did want to start wearing lighter pinks again, it's just hard when you have giant lips! I received this as a gift and I was in love with this shade all over again.
Although this can look great by itself I do find sometimes the pink goes in my creases and settles which is what I didn't initially like about it. Excuse my chapped lips, I tried to put on some lip balm on top of this as you can see this lipstick can be a little unforgiving if you don't have perfect lips, it also sits on top of my lip.
I decided that in order to make this work for me best a lip liner was needed in a neutral shade to mix in with the light pink. When I bought Rimmel's ' east end snob' and CT ' pillow talk' I knew they would be perfect bases and I was right! For me this really does work best with a pencil colour underneath, it also means the two colours blend together so the pink is not too pink for me. Perfect for that bold smokey eye grunge look. ( I couldn't get a picture of it with the lip liner as my normal lens has broken and I'm stuck with a Macro lens that insists on being difficult!)

Beauty: MAC 30 Palette update
Thursday, 8 January 2015
1st Row: Plum dressing, nocturnelle
2nd Row: Beautiful Iris, Girlie, Haux, Cranberry
3rd Row: Shale, Mystery, Naked Lunch, blackberry
I'm sure anyone who has tried to build a MAC palette understands the time and dedication it takes to fill one of these beauts up. Last christmas I got a palette and two eye-shadow fills. A year later I have 11 shades, I try to buy 1-2 a month depending on my outgoings. I realised I had been positing about some of the shades I had bought but not about my actual palette.
When building this palette I wanted a mix of neutrals( browns/ beiges), pinks, purples and some greens. I wrote a mega list out on the shades I wanted - which has been changed countless times. I think it's always handy to get an idea of what you want the palette to look like at the end so when you go to look you aren't buying shades on a whim that don't go together. My palette does look slightly like that especially at first but luckily some of the shades I bought on a whim goes with other shades in my palette thanks to having the aim of purples and pinks!
What shades would you recommend? I'm looking at sketch and trax...

Beauty: Review - MAC Pro paintpot in Soft Ochre
Tuesday, 16 December 2014
I've been lusting after this ever since I started watching EasyNeon's videos, it seemed like a perfect primer to get my eyelids prepped. I managed to get hold of this before doing mine and my mates make up on friday and I think it sets a nice even shade for putting your eyeshadows on top.
I later used this for my works do and my eyeliner and shadow lasted till the next day! I'm really impressed with this.
I found you need to rub it with your finger to heat it up to make it more spreadable if that makes sense? I found I couldn't just put some straight on the brush to on my lids, but I didn't mind I usually use my fingers to prime my eyelids. Though it does have a lovely soft creamy feel to it. You don't even need that much to set a good base so I think this pot is going to last quite a while and is fast going to become a staple in my make up case!
It is £15.50 which for mac isn't that expensive and I think when you look at other prices for primers it's not that bad.
Have you guys ever tried this out? Which are your favourite primers

Beauty: MAC eyeshadows - Blackberry and Girlie
Tuesday, 2 December 2014
I decided to treat myself to ONE MAC eyeshadow and as usual I came out with two. Blackberry has been a shade I wanted for a long time but when I went into MAC I saw Girlie ( A shade previously considered only a few times.....)
I think Lily was a big inspiration for the pink shade(Girlie), and a girl at work keeps wearing pink, she has quite a tan so it looks so lovely on her, although I'm pretty pale I think this comes out really nicely. I think both the colours blend so well.
I don't think these photos do Blackberry justice and make it look a lot more brown then it actually is.Tw0six has a really great picture that does it a lot more justice!! Does anyone have tips for taking pictures of MAC eyeshadows? I never seem to be able to get good pictures of them!
Recommend me some of your favourite MAC shades! I still have quite a way to go till my palette is complete!
Ciao

Beauty: Autuminal Favourites
Monday, 27 October 2014
I know I have been off the blogging radar, I got a new laptop and can't seem to get photoshop on it, to edit my pictures so I may have to get back to the old laptop again....I am pretty useless with technology!
So a lot of people are going on about their Autumn favourites and there are some excellent selections going on. Of course we all have the standard dark A/W lip, I know a lot of people are going for berry's but this dark brick red ( MAC's hearts aflame) is the one for me this Autumn( if you want a cheaper version look at the Kate Moss for Rimmel collection 07). My daily lip is MAC's Yield to love, I love a good Mauve ( I've probably said this countless times) - mylipbutbetter. Anybody have a few good Mauve's to recommend? Illamasque seem to have some good ones going!
I got this rimmel bronzer to replace my beloved topshop bronzer and its perfect! I always prefer a bronzed cheek to a blush and this is quite subtle, I was debating the bodyshop honey bronzer but I was broke and this was cheaper...what's new? but it was a great decision, same quality! On top of this I have been loving dabbling the Rimmel stay blushed! I am going to do a review of this because I love this so much more then I ever anticipated.
A few weeks on and I am still wildly in love with the Naked basics 2, it actually hurts to debate using another palette, like I feel like such a judas I have to find a way to sneak this one in as well. I think it's brilliant to do a simple shadow sweep a long with the brick red or a brown smokey cateye with the mauve.
And lastly I have fallen back in love with my Realtechniques blush brush! I always put this aside for my Kabuki brush but recently this has been coming out on top.
What are your favourites?

Beauty: Urban Decay Naked Basics 2
Saturday, 11 October 2014
Everyone is blogging about this little palette... maybe you don't need another post telling you how amazing this is but here is my 2 cents....
When the Basics palette came out, it just wasn't for me the colours were just too far, the black too dark and the pales too light for my poor pale skin, it was all too harsh. The middle shades didn't really looks like ones I would use either.
Then I saw the naked basics 2 on instagram and I knew. I just knew it was going to be the one I couldn't let pass me by. The muted black, the softer beige and the stunning taupe-browns. This was the travel palette for me. There isn't a single colour I wouldn't use, they work amazingly together as well and I have used this every single day since I bought it!
This retails around £22 which I would say is definitely worth it, if you are familiar with the quality of urban decay eye shadows you'll understand they are worth every penny, I have yet to hit pan on any of my naked palettes, I think this could be the first palette I do that on...
I actually bought this for £15.40 on cohorted where you basically can get discount on the product depending on when you buy it I think. the more people that buy it the more it goes down, something like that until it can't go down anymore. I don't 100% understand but basically each week there are 4 new products you can get a discount on, and these can be some amazing beauty products - MAC lipsticks, too faced palettes, realtechniques brushes all sorts, you gotta be quick though and get it before everyone else. The postage is free within the first month and posts really quickly. I really recommend getting yourself registered onto this place!
Whats your best cohort bargain? What do you think of this palette?
Ciao x

How to: Cover a red tattoo with MAC make up ( The non eyeshadow method)
Monday, 6 October 2014
This weekend my sister got married! Exciting!! She asked me before to cover my tattoo, after endless attempts with eyeshadows concealer foundations and many a youtube video I was stuck.
I went to MAC for advice, A lovely lady ( whose name I didn't get sadly) offered to show me how, with the tattoo being on my neck I had to sit and hold a mirror so I could see what she was doing! ( this is also why I haven't been able to do another step by step to show you.
First of all she used the MAC Prep and Prime CC cream with a yellow tone to balance out the redness. This is applied with the sponge. ( the lady was lovely enough to give me a free sample as I only needed it for one day)
Next we applied the studio finish concealer with an eyeshadow brush. I used the shade NW15 because I am SUPER pale. If it gets a little cakey between layers mix in a tiny bit of moisturiser with the concealer.
On top of this we patted on the prep & prime transparent powder to set the concealer
Give it a moment to set and keep adding layers until its gone Et Voila! A covered tattoo. I didn;t have time to fully cover it or get a a proper picture I managed to locate one with my back in...the first picture and the second is when the mac artist did it and we still needed another layer or two and I have my bike jacket on for 40 minutes....
This is so crazy easy I can't believe how much I was faffing about before! It doesn't take that long to do either, we just ran out of time due to an unfortunate fire alarm. The staying time is pretty good but obviously if a lot of people are going to rub the area you will most likely need to top it up every couple of hours!
Ciao x
PS I also tried this method to cover a large blue bruise, we couldn't be bothered with heaps of layers so we didn't fully cover it but it was considerably less noticeable!

Beauty - Are you warm or cool toned?
Sunday, 21 September 2014
So in two weeks time my sister is getting married! It's a super exciting time and I have the amazing honour of being a bridesmaid! I'm really excited but.... my issue is, I need to cover my tattoos. After numerous youtube videos - I am still somehow no closer to properly covering them.
So I decided to email a MAC artist for some advice, While I may not be a 100% closer - she did give some good advice I thought I would share....
When watching a youtube video the youtuber said depending on your skin tone you should select either a bright orange or a bright pink eyeshadow. Now I think I am quite pinky/ warm toned and I have always gone for pink toned foundations so I went with the pink eyeshadow.
how can I be sure?
The lovely MAC artist( Kate) explained that if you ball your fist and look at the veins at the back, if the veins have a green tint then you are cool toned and should go for the orange eyeshadow and yellow toned products. If the veins have a blue tint then you are warm toned and should go for pink based products.
I never knew this is how you check! I am definitely warm toned! so I thought I would share my new found knowledge with you all. As after all, sharing is caring.
Ciao x

Beauty - 5 Winter lipsticks
Saturday, 13 September 2014
I love winter, I love the dark tones, the faux fur, the leather, I love it all.( apart from the cold. I really don't love that.) I don't usually separate between summer and winter in terms of make up or fashion, I think the most I have done is swap from foundation to tinted moisturiser. But there is something about winter that makes everyone want to get their Burgundy lipsticks out so I though I would put my two cents in and show you the 5 shades I have ' for winter'.
- Charlotte Tilbury: Night Crimson
- Mac: Hearts Aflame
- Rimmel: Kate Moss 107
- Topshop Lip Bullet : Wine Gum ( the don't sell this anymore but they have another shade called Bewitched which is equally as nice)
- Mac Russian Red ( this isn't particularily wintery or dark but I love it so and I will probably wear this to any christmas parties with some gold eyeshadow...)
Another lipstick I used to own was Topshops Hazard which for £8 is ideal and a beautiful shade.
What are your favourite dark reds?
ciao x
