Finally getting my hands on the tartelette palette

I knew as soon as I saw this palette I was going to own it. I asked a few friends to pick it up in america because the £45 they were asking on amazing was ridiculous! Anyway they both were unable to find it and I managed to get it from QVC for £28 which is around the asking price in the states anyway!  The packaging of this is stunning for all you fellow packaging geeks out there, I actually keep this in the box. I'm not sure why I just prefer it in the box! Overall you get 16 stunning matte shades from nudes to browns and light pinks to purples. Dreamer is a great alternate to MACs mystery for my eyebrows and natural beauty is a good dupe for the Naked 2 tease.  The colours all go really well together and blend really nicely, the light colours are good for some highlighting. You also get a really decent brush with it too and the mirror is big enough to do a lot of your make up.  This is definitely the perfect travel set! at £28 I think it was well worth the money!  I think my favourite shade has to be best friend.  What did you think of this palette?  Ciao x Keep up to date with my latest posts by following me! :)

March Favourites

Can you beleive it's the end of March already?! Crazy! with the end of March comes the much expected March favourites! So this month I have been loving:  1) MAC eyeshadow in 'Star Violet': I think this has surpassed sable in rankins to be my all time favourite MAC eyeshadow. Thank you viviannadoesmakeup for mentioning this and thus it ending up in my life! 2) Fudge Urban range - the 'Iced coconut hairspray' - I got this with a dress I ordered from Motel and it's love. This smells amazing, usually I hate the smell of hairspray but this smells like happy hour in my hair and I LOVE it.  3) Blistex 'happy lips' in strawberry - I was gifted this( along with mango) at the blogger meet up and have been turning to these to help my lips out. They smell and taste amazing, really soft on the lips! ( expect a lip balm post in the next few days!)  4) lastly I have been loving the Illamasqua vintage metallix collection. these are just so soft and creamy and look amazing on. Review - Illamasqua vintage metallix 'Bibelot'

Of the 3 Vintage Metallix shades this was the last on my list when I initially looked at them but when it came to buying them this one ended up in the basket first. I have this weird love for green shades right now and I don't really have any green shades at the moment let alone one like this and thought it would be a great addition!   This isn't just your average olive green shade though- The whole collection was designed around ageing layers which I think they captured. This green has a vintage grey-y feel to it with gorgeous little gold and brown specs to add even  more depth and dimension. As you can see from the second photo this eyeshadow has amazing build-ability ( I apologise about the blurry pic I've had to resort to a Macro lens that I can't seem to figure out!) One stroke and you've got an amazing base colour to build on but if you do another layer this looks fantastic as a standalone shade. I like to do one layer and then some more in the outer corners to blend light to dark with some white in the inner corner.   The pot isn't as large as the Maybelline colour tattoo's and at £16.50 this is a hefty amount more but I feel like this is worth it? The texture and depth to this just trumps Maybelline for me. I haven't seen a shade like this anywhere and I really love the formulation of it. I also really love the packaging of this and it's romantic/vintage feel. I just wish they would bring out some more colours! - Currently they have 3 colours, a pink and a brown as well as 'bibelot' - the pink 'Courtier' I will be reviewing later in the month! The NARS dolomites eyeshadow duo

Nars has a funny way of deceiving me, the box looked a good size, when I took out my eyeshadows I felt a little disapointed for £25 quid, it felt small. Open it up and there are two really big eyeshadows -relief! This palette got added to my lust list after seeing it on Latasha's blog ( whose photography is far superior to mine!), it just looked too beautiful to pass up! I wasn't disappointed with the colours when I opened this up, the light pink and brown both have a gorgeous light rainbow glitter to them, I don't think any photo could do this justice. The pink is very shimmery and the brown is a matte with glitter - does that make sense? I feel like they are going to make the perfect 1960-s cat eye with a glittery twist! ( I will be trying something like this in a few days - keep your eyes out!)  The pink shade is just stunning and the brown blends in beautifully and softly which is going to be perfect for your crease. was this worth the £25? -Yes I think so! When you think a Mac eyeshadow is £12.50 a pop; this is pretty much the same value and I haven't got any shades like this! Let's not forget that NARS packaging is just beautiful and simple, I think it's what's attracting me to NARS so much lately. Beauty: Review - MAC Pro paintpot in Soft Ochre

I've been lusting after this ever since I started watching EasyNeon's videos, it seemed like a perfect primer to get my eyelids prepped. I managed to get hold of this before doing mine and my  mates make up on friday and I think it sets a nice even shade for putting your eyeshadows on top.

I later used this for my works do and my eyeliner and shadow lasted till the next day! I'm really impressed with this.

I found you need to rub it with your finger to heat it up to make it more spreadable if that makes sense? I found I couldn't just put some straight on the brush to on my lids, but I didn't mind I usually use my fingers to prime my eyelids. Though it does have a lovely soft creamy feel to it.  You don't even need that much to set a good base so I think this pot is going to last quite a while and is fast going to become a staple in my make up case!

It is £15.50 which for mac isn't that expensive and I think when you look at other prices for primers it's not that bad.

Beauty: MAC Eyeshadows - Naked Lunch & Shale

Does anyone else find it hard to take pictures of eyeshadows sometimes? I feel like these pictures don't do the shades justice.... Since it's payday I decided to treat myself to two new MAC eyeshadows, anyone building a MAC palette knows this is HARD work and rather expensive so I get one or two every other month.

 I had been looking a a lighter shade to use in my inner corners or to highlight and I had seen a lot of people raving about Naked lunch, It has a really soft goldeny hue to it I think it's going to be a popular lid sweeper as well rivalling Urban Decay in my 1920s looks.

Whilst browsing I noticed shale and just fell in love, I had to have it! I think its going to be perfect for a smokey eye look! It's a light purple-y grey, you really need to see this one in person. I haven't seen a shade like this before! ( The second pic makes it look darker then it is!)

Beauty: Nars Soft touch Shadow pencil

HE HE HO HO. Extreme close up.

I recently got this with an ASOS order in the shade Heat, something about the colour I just loved! A sort of teal colour? I used to have a Avon eye pencil I loved and couldnt wait to try this one. I love to use it with my usual eyeliner on top!

I have to say though, this is a little TOO soft, it says its supposed to be long-lasting...err. I didn't put a primer underneath so that might help but within minutes it had made a weird crease line and an hour later when I had gotten to work it had turned into a grey/green-y eyeshadow-thing . I was a little gutted but then everyone said my eyes looked really nice today so maybe it works somehow!

The pencils retail at £18 ( thankfully I didn't pay that!) which to be honest I think is far too much, so I think I will only pick up some more of these when I can get them with some kind of discount. Otherwise I really recommend the Avon alternatives!

Beauty: MAC - Beautiful Iris

I have been hunting for a blue tinted lilac shade ever since I saw a similar one in the Narcissist palette ( a palette that is becoming increasing annoying trying to get into my local selfridges... ) MAC don't have a matte shade like that but I noticed this one today and thought it was a beaut. It has a slight shimmer to it, just the right amount and hey if payday isn't a day to treat yourself, I don't know what is!

Beauty: The current top 5 lid-sweepers

It's happened to us all.... slept in a little too late rushing your make up and then you get to eyeshadow....what shade do I pick? Do I have time for shading? Under-eyes? Sometimes it's easier to just sweep one shade over, nice and neutral( even if you aren't in a rush). At the moment  I have 5 go to shades that I love just sweeping across my lid with one easy brush. Simplicity at its finest!

1. MAC - Sable: This is my numero uno shade. I LOVE this, its a frost shade that I pretty go to anytime I am unsure what eyeshadow to wear. It has a rosy coppery tint that goes just about with anything I wear.

2. Urban Decay - Tease: I have this as part of the Naked 2 palette but you can buy it as a single. This was my go to shade before Sable came into my life. Tease for me is my lids but better, its possibly my favourite most natural looking shade. It's a matte shade.

3.Urban Decay - Half baked. This is possibly the only shade that isn't a natural shade. It is my favourite going out shade for a 1920's vibe look. Match this perfectly with a red lip.

4.  Urban Decay - Nooner. Aaah Nooner, UD Naked 3 tease counterpart, as you would expect with the Naked 3 being a rose gold palette this is like a darker pink/coppery version of Tease, it is Matte aussi.

5. MAC - Haux: Possibly MAC equivalent of Tease, a neutral shade that makes you look like you haven't got anything on at all...
