Charlotte Tilbury light wonder foundation

I'm in love, like actually in love with this.... is it possible to be in love with a foundation? Like all things at the Charlotte Tilbury counter this really hasn't disappointed ( if you couldn't tell by my outburst) and has left me wanting MORE.  Since my trusty NARS tinted moisturiser finished I was debating picking up another bottle or getting a CT foundation. Let's be honest, it wasn't much of a debate, that gorgeous rose gold packaging drew me in very easily.  I knew she had a new foundation coming out so I popped instore to figure out which to get and after speaking with the sales assistant we figured this would be the best option for me. Just to give you the low down, generally I like my foundation very light. I don't like feeling it on my skin especially as I have combination skin and my forehead and chin can get incredibly oily. So the light wonder has a lighter more build-able coverage then the magic foundation which is a more medium to heavy coverage. The NARS tinted moisturiser was lovely don't get me wrong, I would really repurchase it but I did find my chin and forehead still getting quite oily. BUT. oh god, I had been touching my chin all day the first time I wore this like some absolute weirdo because the CT light wonder really doesn't make it feel that oily at all! It feels, hmm, I'm not 100% sure how to describe I guess it felt silky-ish in my oily spots. The coverage is really good and apart from the fact I kept touching my face in one area it stayed most of the day and  I found it covered my redness really well though there was room to comfortably add a little more if I wanted to.  The next day I didn't touch my face and it lasted all day and literally felt like I had nothing on and no oilyness! The girl at the counter also put on a lot more on me then I usually would when we tested it out and it still felt really light. At £32 I think that's a fair enough price at 40ml, which is slightly smaller then the 50ml NARS moisturiser but for all the extra goodness you can't complain and it definitely out shines NARS. ( sorry NARS) The girl at the counter was so lovely and tested out several products on me like the cleansing balm and the magic cream along with the retoucher and powder. Saaaaaafe to say even more products have been added to my CT wishlist - someone want to get me the Norma Parkinson highlighter? ...any takers?...no? Beauty: Benefit's - How to look the best at everything

I received this as a birthday present from one of my besties and I was so excited about it! I already have the porefessional and hello flawless foundation but since the NARS tinted  moisturiser entered my life they kinda took a side line. Now, it the complete opposite, I have turned to this everyday! Porefessional feels like CLOUDS. actual clouds on your face it is so soft and a small amount goes a long way, I use this mostly on my nose and t-section. The foundation is really soft and I don't feel it sitting on my skin or being all cakey. It doesn't make my skin feel oily either, I really rate this foundation!   I LOVE the concealer, it's so soft and smooth! I used to use benefits erase paste but I prefer this, I use both colours so I dot the lighter shade under the eye at each corner and use the darker shade in the middle and do a line along my cheek. This blends so well and I actually prefer this to my collection 2000 ( is that slightly controversial?) but I think it's probably because I prefer my concealer to be a bit thicker and more of a paste, if you get what I mean. The powder is great, the make up stays on all day, I can't honestly say if its better than my Rimmel stay matte powder which is probably a lot cheaper. My only bug bear with the powder in this is that you can't take it out, you can take all the other products out and they are a great size but if you wanted to powder up later you would have to take the whole thing.  You can actually take the whole thing out and use just the book as a little box, with it's tips and tricks this makes a great present. Beauty - Are you warm or cool toned?

So in two weeks time my sister is getting married! It's a super exciting time and I have the amazing honour of being a bridesmaid! I'm really excited but.... my issue is, I need to cover my tattoos. After numerous youtube videos - I am still somehow no closer to properly covering them.

So I decided to email a MAC artist for some advice, While I may not be a 100% closer - she did give some good advice I thought I would share....

When watching a youtube video the youtuber said depending on your skin tone you should select either a bright orange or a bright pink eyeshadow. Now I think I am quite pinky/ warm toned and I have always gone for pink toned foundations so I went with the pink eyeshadow.

how can I be sure?

The lovely MAC artist( Kate) explained that if you ball your fist and look at the veins at the back, if the veins have a green tint then you are cool toned and should go for the orange eyeshadow and yellow toned products. If the veins have a blue tint then you are warm toned and should go for pink based products.

I never knew this is how you check! I am definitely warm toned! so I thought I would share my new found knowledge with you all. As after all, sharing is caring.

Beauty: Review - Lord and Berry replacement

Hey Everyone,
So on thursday I finally received my Lord and Berry replacement, if you don't know the back story you can read it here. So I got my replacement foundation in Ivory which is the shade I initially wanted and they were nice enough to add in a Luxury Liner. This came in a nice big case aswell!

So this time I stuck a pin down the top as recommended, I can't say if this needs to be done every time but from memory it was a lot easier to get my foundation out, it definitely wasn't as thick this time! Retrying the foundation it felt really light and refreshing on my face! It is a little thicker I feel, then the hello oxygen but not as bad as I remember, you just need a tiny bit more and it spreads beautifully with the expert face brush for a really good coverage. It's a buildable coverage as my cheeks are very red and I needed to add a little bit extra there. All in all I stick by what I said last time, I do really like this foundation it retails at around £20 and I think it is really worth the money.

As a bonus they added the Luxury Liner, its a really nice soft consistency, sometimes I find with pencils they can be quite rough and feel like they are scratching me or you need to work them quite a bit before using them. This goes on straight away its got a really heavy pigment so you dont have to keep going over it to make it really black and the softness means its easy to smudge to get that perfect smokey eye look. I think this can cost between £8-9 so for the quality it's not expensive at all.

So I'm pretty chuffed with these, Lord and Berry have well and truly redeemed themselves and I will be purchasing more of their products in the future! Have you guys bought any? Which L&B product is your favourite?

Beauty: Review - Lord and Berry Foundation & Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation

Hello everyone!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Hope you all had an amazing christmas and new year. I got back yesterday from home and it was loverrrly. 

I got some really amazing presents like some GHDs and a MAC Palette, some bags, a new wallet and so many other gorgeous things! 

Today I got two cheeky shades for my MAC palette that I will feature quicky. I went to MAC with the aim to get Cranberry as I had a £10 voucher. However they were out of stock!! Gutted so immediately I fell in love with Plum Dressing, however I have a list of shades I wanted, and thought it might be more practical to get a brown shade that was on the list, that I could use for my brows.So it was Head Vs Heart: when we looked at Haux there was one in stock. it was like fate..... it became mine!! ....And so did Plum Dressing. Oops. 

Anyway!! Let's get onto the main reason for this post. 

So last year I was looking for a new foundation to swap too as I felt that throughout the day the L'oreal True Match was getting quite oily and I could feel it sat on my skin. 

So Lord and Berry had a creme foundation I was really interested in and with fate again my foundation ran out the day before I went home, Luckily there was a stand in Dubai mall. So I bought the foundation and thought sweeeeet. ITS GOT A SCREW CAP. because one of my biggest pet peeves is the lid coming off my foundation and it spilling all over my other make up. So the shade I got was almond, which isn't the shade I wanted I think it was a little darker but a white girl in a sunny country, obviously they wont stock my shade. I got the shade anyway and when i first used it my initial thought was its thick. It came out a lot thicker then the L'oreal. However with the RealTechniques expert face brush is spread beauuuuutifully on my face. The shade didn't look wrong either which I was chuffed with. So all in all loved it. 

HOWEVER. 

On christmas eve I was going to do a cheeky top up and sometimes when trying to squeeze out product it would get quick stuck and hardly anything would come out. so I went to do my top up and this was a time nothing was coming out so..... naturally. I squeezed a little harder then. BOOM. EXPLOSION. foundation was EVERYWHERE. Absolutely gutted. That photo is the aftermath!  I went back to the store to see if I could get one exchange and it had gone!!! Couldn't believe it!! So whilst walking around the mall my mate said she had the Stay Flawless Foundation from Benefit, I swatched it and it felt really light, had a nice ivory shade so today I bought one. She tried it out on my face so I have worn in all day. Honestly, it doesn't fell like I have any on and when I run my finger over it I don't FEEL that foundation sat on my skin another bonus is it has SPF in it, which for fair skin is really good, I think its gonna be really helpful at festivals to know I have some protection on my face.. I have combination skin and this seems so far to really work keeping down the oil.  She did say I would need to do a top up throughout the day which is expected. I also ended up buying the Porefessional which is a product I have been looking at for a while, as I don't use any primers just a nivea moisturiser, the combination seems to be working so far. I might do an update in a few weeks on how I feel then although the lid does feel heaps more secure and the Hello flawless comes with a Porefessional tester, They are a little pricey the two coming up to £50 but they seem worth it to me!
