When it's okay to smell like wet dog

I love lush, I do... and I do love this product - there is just one thing...the smell. It smells like wet dog...a spicy wet dog. And that's okay... to smell like a wet dog for a few minutes while you cleanse your face. The other day I spoke about cleansing your face with a cleansing brush so I wanted a good cleanser to go with it. A lot of people had talked about Clinique but at £20 a go and a holiday to save for I just couldn't do it. At the last blogger meet up we were kindly given little samples from lush and this was one of them. I felt the sample didn't do the product justice so decided to get the full large sized product. Smell aside this is a really great product and to be fair the smell isn't that bad, I feel like once you recognise the smell though there is no going back... so...SORRY if it never hit you before and now all you smell is wet dog. 
It's got a thick consistency kinda like wax and does feel oily when you put it on but my skin doesn't feel oily at all after using this. It feels really smooth and fresh and the smell doesn't linger I promise! Though this teams perfectly with the cleansing brush you will need a damp cloth to get it off completely, when I first tried without it, due to the oils I found it difficult to feel like I had gotten it all off and was scrubbing for some time. The pot is around just under £6 and has lasted quite some time so it's definitely good value for money. Would I repurchase? Yes! - Unless someone can recommend a nicer smelling good value cleanser then I may reconsider! x

A lazy girls way to cleanse...

It's no secret that the past month or so has been insanely busy for me so I needed a way to be able to cleanse my skin quickly. Although I have always cleansed my skin I did want to step it up a little because I was just using a cleanser on a wipe and I was still getting some spots. I really wanted something like a magnitone because I've heard good things but for the price I just couldn't justify it as I wasn't even sure how much use I would get so at christmas I spotted this cheaper version by No. 7 and asked my parents for it.
 Personally I've never tried a Magnitone so I can't compare the two but I do really love this one by No. 7. It's got two speed settings and paired with Lush's ultrabland it manages to get all my make up off and my face smooth and soft  though I did feel the brush head was a little rough at first I think it was just the way I was angling it. This really doesn't take long to do and I actually really enjoy it! I got two extra brush heads with this as well and it's so easy to clean with some warm water and soap. Since using the two, along with an improvement in diet my skin has cleared up so much and those annoying under the skin spots on my chin are starting to show less and less. If you're looking for a cleansing brush but don't want to pay a fortune I would really recommend this!

Lush - Rose Jam bubbleroon review

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who go amazing amounts of lush products this christmas! I've never used one of the Bubbleroons before so I wasn't sure what to expect but I had been wanted to test out the rose jam smell after hearing such good things from Alix on her channel. 
The bubbleroon is so cute and pretty massive actually, could you imagine a macaroon that size? Dreamy, It broke in half pretty easy and produced a good amount of bubbles!! ( harry had come in the bathroom and was amazed by them! kept popping his head over the bath for a sniff - thats the cat FYI)  though I'm pretty sure you would get the same amount from any of the bars so I'm not sure if bubbleroons are supposed to produce more? I don't know it was an acceptable amount anyway! I'm not sure how I feel about the rose smell; I don't quite think its for me though the cat clearly loved it and the house did smell nice and fresh for the rest of the day!!
Would I repurchase? Probably not, though I may try a different bubbleroon because it was easier to break apart and use than a bubblebar!!

The perfect way to end a week?

I've been slacking... I know, I've been very painting motivated lately so the blog has kinda fallen by the wayside(?). It also doesn't help that I changed cards and haven't updated my photoshop subscription and now I don't have it -oops expect poorly edited photos!! Last week I decided to test out my Lush yoga bomb as I had had a little bit of stress going on and apparently 15 minutes of the yoga bomb is the same as 3 hours of yoga..... nooooot quite sure how true that is but I'll take lying in a bath over downward facing dog any day.  This bath bomb has a really nice refreshing and uplifting smell which I found quite energizing, it had a lot of glitter which I didn't expect it also randomly started producing purples and other colours which was exciting! I'm always a bit apprehensive about glitter in the bath bombs but it didn't stick to me at all which is great but then you do have the afterbath ( aftermath...see what I did there?) of glitter ALL OVER YOUR TUB. So after you are all nice and relaxed you then gotta do some cleaning up - not quite the dream there but I will let it slide....aaaanyway a lovely lush bath with Rudimental's new album playing was just the perfect way to end the week off, I'm seriously loving this album and it's feel good vibes so the two together are a dream, I just feel a bit sorry for my neighbours who may or may not have heard my screechy cat voice singing along. When you thought your favourite lush product couldn't get any better....

I don't think I am the only one here when I say that the comforter bath bomb is my all time favourite. It smells amazing, produces ridiculous amounts of bubbles for  me to enjoy. When I went to Lush in June I HAD TO get the shower gel version, how could I not?!  And let me tell you. ITS AMAZING. It smells just as delicious as the bath bomb with subtle glittery bits in it. It's the perfect little pick me up after a long day. My only downside is I do think it's a little pricey? maybe thats just me? I can't remember how much this bottle was I think £9-10? I really wanted to get more but it just would have been too expensive, they had a mega bottle for £30 which is insane. it was HUGE. I've used this so much I've nearly used half the bottle I love it that much so I will definitely be repurchasing no matter what the cost but may get it as a treat every now and again. This was a Oxford street purchase but I think I've heard the liverpool one is getting it - fingers crossed otherwise I may have to frequent London more than I planned to.  have you tried this?  Keep up to date with my latest posts by following me! :)

A mini lush haul

Last weekend I went to London to see Taylor Swift ( if you're jealous -you should be she was amazing...#sorrynotsorry) and I was almost equally as excited to go into lush. I read and researched the store... I'm not crazy I just had some a lot of free time at work. 3 floors of lush goodness and heaps of products not available in Manchester. Yes, I was excited. My number one priority was getting my hands on the comforter shower jel, I really wanted a couple but just couldn't afford it right now so stuck to one... all the more reason to go back though! I will admit the store wasn't as huge and massive as in my dreams ( isn't that always the case?) but it was amazing, there was a lot to look at and being a saturday + empty stomach I wasn't quite up for scanning every inch and asking the staff to show me some new goodies. I did however pick up the frozen bath bomb - Did you know Lush had a frozen themed bath bomb?! I didn't and I am so freakin excited to us this next month in my new bath! -It is a Oxford St. exclusive and if I love it another reason to go back. ( do I really need another reason?) It's got quite a strong smell but I think I will look past that and just let it gooo... ( I had to okay don't judge!) The next I picked up was the Lush Yoga bomb, which I thought would be good for calming - perfect for when you are moving house! It's also got a really nice scent to it! The last bath bomb I got was the may day bath bomb which was brought out to help badgers, I've always wanted to pick this up and was a little too late in Manchester.  Lastly I got the tooth fairy tooth powder, which I saw from Helen's video and thought it sounded interesting and also good for travelling. I wasn't overly in love with the snow fairy product but then again I haven't used it for a long time so may need to retry to fall in love.  I will have reviews of each product coming up over the next two months so keep your eyes peeled!  What are you favourite lush products or lust haves?!  Ciao  Keep up to date with my latest posts by following me! :)

Beauty: Review - Lush Reindeer Rock

The best thing about christmas is all the special christmas smelling goodies you can get. The worst thing? not being able to afford them all. I was umming and aahing about buying this because it was the only thing from the range that really caught my eye ( and nose...) as it smells like my favourite bar the comforter. Anyway when I got home I found I hadn't left myself any shower gel or soap as expected.... and I just so happened to pass a lush store... if that's not fate I don't know what is.

this smells amazing, so much berry goodness and when I unravelled it in my bathroom, the whole room smelt delicious. When I wet the bar to use it I found the smell became more muted which is a relief as I may have smelt a little overwhelming for some people. 

I don't really need to go into the logistics on how to use a bar of soap, it does what it does, lathers well and smells great so I happily recommend this, its nice, fresh and uplifting. I'm not sure how much this retails at in the UK out here its 36dhs for 100kg so price will vary dependant on how much you buy. I think its like £3 something. anyway I am definitely getting more of this before christmas is over!

Beauty -Review Lush Marilyn hair Mask

I've been looking to try a hair mask for a while and with the recent ombre this was the most ideal time. Everyone knows that when you chuck some bleach on your hair the quality is going to go. So to stop my hair from becoming ratty I looked to hairmasks and where better then LUSH?

I had a look at a few different masks but this one was tailored to bleached hair and keeping off those red tones, kinda like a 2 for 1 for me really. It's around £9.50, it has quite a runny consistency which I didn't expect. I didn't use loads just on the ends of my hair, so the pot will last 3-4 times for me, if you were bleaching your hair all over you would probably need a pot a time and I would probably leave it on for longer then the recommended 20 minutes. It doesnt't really lighten my hair, I've been using it for 2-3 weeks now but it does keep the red tones at bay and it does make my hair soft so its enough for me to keep repurchasing! Extra note - you may smell like you've dipped your hair in tequila ( that's the smell I get from it! )

If you just want to look after your ombre once a week this is ideal for you!

review: Lush Tree Tea Oil toner

I didn't fully understand the purpose of a toner, apart from that its an extra you can do after cleansing to get rid of any last minute dirt on your face. I've read a few bloggers say they use this to refresh their make up which to be honest I don't fully get if you spritz this on your face it'll run down - with a full face of make up that's not something I want to do.... I use this twice a day - as explained in the previous post, before moisturiser but after cleanser. At night I tend to just spritz this on my face as I have longer to let it dry.

I read that toners are supposed to handy if you have oily skin so this has come at a good time as lately my hair and skin have been sooooo oily it's untrue. I'm putting this down to the temperature change as I have been eating quite healthily, Manchester is getting crazy humid. Has it made a huge difference to my skin? My skin doesn't feel as oily if I use this so it may be the moisturiser adding on some extra oils.... I think it has managed to keep any oncoming spots at bay. Like I said my skin has become supppeeeer oily so it should be spot central but I am only getting one or two tiny spots at a time so it's gotta be doing something!

I got this bottle for £3.75...something like that so fair play it's a really good price, you can get the bigger bottle for around 7 quid, It's nice easy and quick to use so its not like adding this to your routine is going to become a ball ache. The toner has quite a strong scent to it which I think is the case with most tea tree products anyway. I'm happy with this and will definitely keep buying!!

Beauty: Quick morning Cleanse.

I can't be the only one who tries to get every minute of sleep possible in the morning? Even when Bruce ( Le Chat) has woken me up and making sure I wake up to feed him, I am still trying to stay in bed till the last possible minute before I know I'm going to be late for work. Because of this I needed a quick and easy morning routine here comes these bad boys:

1) I start by cleansing with the good things cleanser, I might do a full review of this because it really is a good product and I feel it deserves more then a few quick lines. Basically any left over muck I didn't get off the night before or anything that's got on my face in the night. Since its gotten hotter I find my skin is more oily in the morning...anyone else?

2) Then I use the Lush tea tree toner, again this will get a full review but at the moment I feel its to recent a purchase to make a good review. In the mornings I spritz this onto a cotton circular thing...( technical!) and then wipe my face. You can spray it straight on your face - I do this at night but it's a bit much in the morning!

3) Add on the korres moisturiser and let that sink in while I make breakfast and before any make up goes on. I reviewed this moisturiser here. I wasn't sure at first but now I know why everyone is raving on about this. It has completely balanced out my skin and it is no way near as red - to the point I could actually go out happily with no foundation, which is a pretty big deal!

Beauty: Review - Lush ' New' Shampoo Bar & Haircut.

So I was going to wait a week or two before I blogged about this but I'm just so amazed by it I had to blog about it today!!

Some of you may be no strangers to the Lush shampoo bars but I tried my first one out this week, I wanted something small that could go in my gym bag and thought this would last longer and be easier to use then a travel sized bottle.

So I got the 'New' Shampoo bar, It says its supposed to stimulate hair growth, which I couldn't tell you about as I have only been using this a week..... but basically you ( obviously) wet your hair just sorta wipe it, so I wipe(?) it 5 times ( though I will probably do it less now my hair is shorter..) but I wipe it down the middle and on each side front and back and oh m god. THERE IS SO MUCH lathering going on, I really didn't expect it at all!! its like I've used nearly half a bottle of shampoo!!

I asked the woman in Lush if I needed a conditioner after it and she said I probably would, so the first time I tried it I didn't use a conditioner and I won't lie I was a little worried that my hair felt so dry in the shower you know when it gets all hard and you feel like your not going to get a brush through it. When I dried it though it felt really fresh and fine, I actually feel like my hair had more volume in it aswell! Throughout the day it didn't feel dry at all and when I used it with a conditioner the next day there wasn't heaps of difference.

It's got a strong smell, you can smell the cinnamon a mile off when you get this out but I don't feel like the smell lingers on your hair throughout the day which is good. It's quite a spicy smell ( if that makes sense...) and if you have smelt the Wiccy bar it's pretty similar to that.

I got the pot to put it in and it is a little difficult to get out at first, the first day I had to just leave it in and rub it on my hair in the pot. but now it gets out okay! the bar itself retails at £5.50 and I think the pot was £2.50 so its £8 in total but completely worth it, this bar is going to last ages!! I think I might try Godiva next. What's your favourite Lush bar?

continuing on with the hair theme, I got my hair cut yesterday!! It's been needed for a while so I bit the bullet and went somewhere called Chandler Rox in Urmston which has a really cool vintage rock vibe interior. I had been wanting to get rid of my layers for quite a while because my hair just always seems to stick out and its beyond frustrating, so I asked for a blunt bob with a side fringe put back in. She left the fringe quite long as we thought it would look better and cut it slightly shorter at the back. The hair cut was inspired by lily Melrose but obviously tailored to my face shape. I had gone this short before and really liked it, what do you guys think??

January Haul

Hey guys!
Thought today's blog post would be about some of the things I bought/ was given (for birthday/Christmas) this month! I am in no way trying to brag about anything ( maybe except that I have amazing friends with amazing taste!!)

Okay so first up, I already blogged about some products in this picture, the Naked Flushed, Hello Oxygen foundation and Porefessional so I won't go into these. Also I just realised I bought the jewellery stand to the left which I think once I fully sort out my make up collection and storage I will do a whole post about that. The other stand was also from Urban Outfitters and that was a present from my sister!

So as you can see at the front are some RealTechniques brushes, the blush brush and expert face brush were presents from  work colleagues and I bought the eye-shadow brush as I had just lost my topshop one. The main thing I can say is, believe the hype about these brushes. I watched a lot of beauty bloggers/vloggers go on about these and I was like...are they really that good? I always used to use my fingers when applying foundation and I heard it helped add oils from your fingers to your face and at the time I had a really oily face all the time, also I had a MAC foundation brush and it was taking forever for me to get it all on and set on my face and when you have 20 minutes to get ready in the morning that's not ideal. The expert face brush is a revelation if you were to buy your first brush make it this one! I also found the eye-shadow brush picks up heaps more pigment then my Topshop one however I don't feel like it blends it as well so I usually have to go over the edges with a blending brush.

Secondly there are a few nail products: two Essie nail polishes and a nail buffer. One of my new year beauty resolutions is to take better care of my nails. So I bought a new Essie base coat ( it's the hydration one) and a buffer so I can start giving myself some proper manicures. The Essie nail colour is called ' All Tied Up' and if you go to Fragrance Direct most of the nail polishes are only £2.50!!!

The last couple of products are the Rimmel Scandaleyes, Lush Santa Scrub and MACs Sable frost eye-shadow. First of all I LOVE this eye shadow it was a gift from my friends and I had eyed it up for my palette. It's perfect for an everyday eye-shadow or even mixing with a darker shade for going out. The Lush santa scrub tastes DELICIOUS however I always wipe it off as you have lots of little dead skin once you've truly started to rub it in so the joy of taste is short-lived.  Lastly the Scandaleyes, to be honest I am still deciding how I feel about this, the brush shape is slightly weird and I can't decide if it is any better then my false lash mascara, I think I won't be repurchasing this.

Next up is this Oxblood bag from Topshop, this was a gift and I had always wanted a bag that opens up like a doctors bag, you know the way the sides are together when its closed and open into a sort of rectangle shape?! Maybe I'm a little weird like that but the fact the bag does this makes me insanely happy. It's the perfect sized bag and I generally can fit everything I need for the day in it, the way it closes also means no rain will get in and living in Manchester this is essential!!

These shoes I had been eyeing up for a while, I used to have some gorgeous ankle boots from River Island which I wore to death and I had been hunting for ages for a brown ankle boot replacement. Something about brown ankle boots in winter, I don't know! These were on sale from Topshop for £25 - I couldn't resist! I would just say is someone has laced these up mighty weird as the laces come from the bottom of the shoe not the top.

Lastly are two items of clothing both from Topshop, being January I was pretty broke so I couldn't go on mad ones, if you remember my last lust haves both these items featured and I got them both in the sale, the trousers for a tenner and the dress for £15. Happy days!

So that's all I've been buying/receiving. Even though I need to be careful with money in Feb I have eye'd up a lot of MAC products that may need to be mine.....

Review: Lush Big Blue.

Hello!! This week I am writing about the Big Blue bath bomb from Lush.

Since Feb, I've become obsessed with Lush products. I will definitely be doing more reviews for them, anyway when I went in in March I asked the girl for some relaxing products for when I was running. She suggested this and a big orange bar I can't remember the name of but I found out it was just a spring limited edition and they don't sell it any more! Devastated!

Anyway, here is a picture of the bomb and my bath, I won't lie its such a gorgeous shade of blue, I definitely felt I was at sea! I was a bit put off by the amount of seaweed at first but when I was in the bath it didn't bother me at all, I completely forgot about it! After about twenty minutes my skin felt so soft. even now without moisturiser it feels amazing!! I couldn't believe it! Definitely stocking up on this again! The bomb dissolves so quickly, I just threw it in the bath, I do find with the bubble bar I have to run it under the water and sometimes large chunks break off and float around till I locate them but this just did it all on its own and was blue in no time!

In other news, the reason it was so exciting to have a bath like the sea is because: I'M GOING TO EGYPT!!! I'll be there for a week next month, the hotel looks gorgeous!!! It's called sunrise beach resort and if you have been there please let me know what you thought!! I've never really been to another Arab country apart from home so it's really exciting to see the culture from a different angle and to see what their souks have in stall! I'm going to be working hard to get my beach body. 30 DAYS TO GO! Ive booked in 20 classes at the yoga lounge in Manchester. This place is fantastic and I will write about my 30 days when they are done!

Lastly I did my very first car boot today. Let's just say it was an experience!! First of all some guy tried to pretend he had paid when he hadn't. Then some woman was supposed to pay 6 pounds for 2 perfumes gave me a fiver and legged it!!! I couldn't believe it!!She also had the nerve to return later and when we realised who she was as she walked away she made a quick escape again!  I'm not sure if its generally car boots or just today's crowd but they wouldn't even pay like £1.50 for a scarf! it was ridiculous! I decided not to lower the prices of a lot of my clothes and will eBay those later but I did manage to make 158.35! And now have much more space in my room!
