Beauty: Rimmel Stay Blushed - Pop of pink!

I have a mild obsession with Alexa Chung.... I'm not ashamed to say!( C'mon now who doesn't love her!?) I was watching this Lisa Eldridge tutorial with her and they used this Rimmel cheek blush.

Now I don't usually stray from powder blushes or bronzers but this looked quite interesting so I thought... why not?... let's have a look at it. Honestly when I scouted it out online I thought I would go for the Sunkissed Cherry shade, being a self-confessed bronzer fanatic. But. But when I went in store I much preferred the pop of pink and decided to go with this one.

Now I haven't completely strayed, I like to add this on top of a light bronze, I simple squirt a teeeeny amount on one finger dab my other finger on it a few times then dab it on the apples of my cheeks and keep dabbing till it's blended and I love it! Espcially with my Rimmer bronzer, it's really subtle and has definitely opened my eyes to try other blushers like this!! I really hope they do some other shades in this! At £4.49 that's a really good price I feel.

Have you guys ever tried this before?

Beauty: Autuminal Favourites

I know I have been off the blogging radar, I got a new laptop and can't seem to get photoshop on it, to edit my pictures so I may have to get back to the old laptop again....I am pretty useless with technology!

So a lot of people are going on about their Autumn favourites and there are some excellent selections going on. Of course we all have the standard dark A/W lip, I know a lot of people are going for berry's but this dark brick red ( MAC's hearts aflame) is the one for me this Autumn( if you want a cheaper version look at the Kate Moss for Rimmel collection 07).  My daily lip is MAC's Yield to love, I love a good Mauve ( I've probably said this countless times) - mylipbutbetter. Anybody have a few good Mauve's to recommend? Illamasque seem to have some good ones going!

I got this rimmel bronzer to replace my beloved topshop bronzer and its perfect! I always prefer a bronzed cheek to a blush and this is quite subtle, I was debating the bodyshop honey bronzer but I was broke and this was cheaper...what's new? but it was a great decision, same quality! On top of this I have been loving dabbling the Rimmel stay blushed! I am going to do a review of this because I love this so much more then I ever anticipated.

A few weeks on and I am still wildly in love with the Naked basics 2, it actually hurts to debate using another palette, like I feel like such a judas I have to find a way to sneak this one in as well. I think it's brilliant to do a simple shadow sweep a long with the brick red or a brown smokey cateye with the mauve.

And lastly I have fallen back in love with my Realtechniques blush brush! I always put this aside for my Kabuki brush but recently this has been coming out on top.

What are your favourites?

update. 20/10/2014

So my posts lately have been lacking. part of me just couldn't find it in myself to type and I didn't want to do any half arsed posts because what's the point in that? The other part was kinda taken over by my next surprise:

MEET HARRY.
yes I totally named my cat after Harry potter.

He is asleep on me right now and is the cutesssst. I got him on saturday! So I promise from now on regular posts!!! I just had this big catshaped hole in my life. I miss Bru terribly, having a cat like him was just so special and with our little routine I just missed it, I missed having a cat around to look after and snuggle at night. 1 cat down. 26 to go.

I promise posts from now on! x

Beauty: Urban Decay Naked Basics 2

Everyone is blogging about this little palette... maybe you don't need another post telling you how amazing this is but here is my 2 cents....

When the Basics palette came out, it just wasn't for me the colours were just too far, the black too dark and the pales too light for my poor pale skin, it was all too harsh. The middle shades didn't really looks like ones I would use either.

Then I saw the naked basics 2 on instagram and I knew. I just knew it was going to be the one I couldn't let pass me by. The muted black, the softer beige and the stunning taupe-browns. This was the travel palette for me. There isn't a single colour I wouldn't use, they work amazingly together as well and I have used this every single day since I bought it!

This retails around £22 which I would say is definitely worth it, if you are familiar with the quality of urban decay eye shadows you'll understand they are worth every penny, I have yet to hit pan on any of my naked palettes, I think this could be the first palette I do that on...

I actually bought this for £15.40 on cohorted where you basically can get discount on the product depending on when you buy it I think. the more people that buy it the more it goes down, something like that until it can't go down anymore. I don't 100% understand but basically each week there are 4 new products you can get a discount on, and these can be some amazing beauty products - MAC lipsticks, too faced palettes, realtechniques brushes all sorts, you gotta be quick though and get it before everyone else. The postage is free within the first month and posts really quickly. I really recommend getting yourself registered onto this place!

Whats your best cohort bargain? What do you think of this palette?

How to: Cover a red tattoo with MAC make up ( The non eyeshadow method)

This weekend my sister got married! Exciting!! She asked me before to cover my tattoo, after endless attempts with eyeshadows concealer foundations and many a youtube video I was stuck.
I went to MAC for advice, A lovely lady ( whose name I didn't get sadly) offered to show me how, with the tattoo being on my neck I had to sit and hold a mirror so I could see what she was doing! ( this is also why I haven't been able to do another step by step to show you.

First of all she used the MAC Prep and Prime CC cream with a yellow tone to balance out the redness. This is applied with the sponge. ( the lady was lovely enough to give me a free sample as I only needed it for one day)

Next we applied the studio finish concealer with an eyeshadow brush. I used the shade NW15 because I am SUPER pale. If it gets a little cakey between layers mix in a tiny bit of moisturiser with the concealer.

On top of this we patted on the prep & prime transparent powder to set the concealer

Give it a moment to set and keep adding layers until its gone Et Voila! A covered tattoo.  I didn;t have time to fully cover it or get a a proper picture I managed to locate one with my back in...the first picture and the second is when the mac artist did it and we still needed another layer or two and I have my bike jacket on for 40 minutes....

This is so crazy easy I can't believe how much I was faffing about before! It doesn't take that long to do either, we just ran out of time due to an unfortunate fire alarm. The staying time is pretty good but obviously if a lot of people are going to rub the area you will most likely need to top it up every couple of hours!

PS I also tried this method to cover a large blue bruise, we couldn't be bothered with heaps of layers so we didn't fully cover it but it was considerably less noticeable!

Style: Lavish Alice Wish List AW 2014

When this picture appeared on my instagram I was like HECK YES I am entering that! I have been lusting after a fair few lavish alice products - if you have ventured upon their instagram you will know why.

It wasn't difficult to pick out a wishlist!! So many crisp and tailored clothes! They capture that masculine tailored look and add such femininity to them. I have settled for 6 items I love the most ( not including any jewellery or shoes!)

1. First of all we have the Black & White floral mini dress £45. I think this would be perfect with some chunky black wedges and a neon pink clutch for that little pop.

2 Next we have another dress Cream cropped tee dress £54. Look at the back zip. click on the link and look at it! This dress has such a fantastic structure to it. I think it would be flattering for any shape or size.  With this dress I think a chunky gold necklace and these bill skinner pieces( Ring £60 + Earrings £40. To finish it off I would use this stunning Rose Gold Clutch Box ( £22)

3. Last dress is this beautiful Black Scuba grid dress £45, flattering bodycon style with a lovely grid pattern to show off just the right amount of flesh.

4. I love capes. I love blouses. I love them mixed together even more! I saw a cape blouse somewhere and fell in love. This Black collarless cape blouse £54 is a stunner. I think this is so chic and is a perfect office -> night out piece that can easily be styled for both, perfect avec cigarette pants I feel.

5. This coat...I haven't got words to describe how beautiful this white & grey grid duster coat (£60) is. I have been obsessing over it. I did a post a little while ago about how obsessed I was with grid print lately. I have seen so many grid coats I want to get but this is top of the list. GET IN MY LIFE.

6. Last but not least we have this stunning baroque print skirt & top (£30 each) combo. This looks so flattering and the print is spectacular. I really like the collar and long sleeved combo in the top and I am a sucker for a 'highwaisted' midi skirt. I would keep any accesories to as simple as possible as this clearly speaks for itself.

Which items are your favourite? Better yet why don't you enter the competition here!
