Beauty: Review - Body Shop Hemp Hand Cream

Hello dears!
I am trying to get back into blogging!! Today I wanted to review a recent purchase, 'Body Shops hemp hand cream'. I got this about a month ago (okay ...not so recent...) and was trialling it instead of my Soap & Glory ' Hand Food ' I get reaaaaallly dry hands in esp in winter.

I have to say the smell of this product doesn't do anything for me, I like quite sweet floral/ fruity smells this smells... how to describe it...muddy?! well... it is hemp it smells natural. My friend loves it so it is for some people!
First of all as an artist i LOVE the packaging, the metal keeps the cream quite cold aswell. The lid being a screw cap means that it wont come off in your bag either. Nothing worse then opening your bag to an explosion of product!
The cream itself is very oily. not in a bad way, just don't put too much on though! it will feel quite oily for a few seconds then ta-daaa! amazingly soft hands, if you put too much on you can feel quite oily for sometime, I usually rub a bit off, I'm a bit weird about oily things. regardless of the smell this cream is amazing!! I would definitely recommend this especially for winter.
Price-wise £10 may see like a lot, but considering you need the smallest amount and you don't need to apply loads it is definitely going to last. Body shop tend to do a lot of offers so you may find it for cheaper. I still think it's worth the tenner they are asking.

Also.... 23 days till christmassssssssssssss!!!

Beauty: Review - Topshop Lipstick

Hello!
Look at this two blog posts within a week! So I wanted to focus this on a beauty product I am in love with.
Topshop lipsticks!
They are just a perfect consistency, quite creamy and all the ones I own are matt which I prefer. I tend to have dried lips quite often so at the moment I am using Baby Lips Hydrate( which I will review later...), the consistency of these lipsticks with or without the lip balm doesn't make my lips feel any worse if I am having a particularly dry moment. They have an insane range of colours if you saw a previous post I have my eyes on Called up!
I own four shades: Beatnix, Beeswax, Siren Screen and Hazard ( which currently isn't with me) I did previously have Minx but this disappeared at Leeds Fest and I was actually devastated!! It was the exact shade for my  lips! However I went to topshop at the beginning of the month and saw beatnix so they are forgiven for discontinuing Minx!  Because my lips are quite big I have to be really careful with the colours I choose, so I tend to go for more natural colours or bright reds. Beatnix is pretty much a match for my lips and Beeswax gives them a nice pinky tint that doesn't look too fake. Screen Siren is a bit too bright red for me, I prefer darker shades of red to be honest ( Like Hazard) it is still very gorgeous.
Topshop lipsticks are £8 which i think is an amazing bargain. They have just as much pigmentation as any MAC lipstick I've tried and are so creamy and smooth which average around £12-£13.
Here is a picture of them next to my new lipstick holder ( aka a teacup!)

Vintage Fair: Lou Lous

Heya!
I know I said weekly posts. I am sorry, I have been so caught up in life! Saw Vampire Weekend on Sunday they were incredible!! So amazing live, Ezra's voice is just insane! Also went to the comedy store in Manchester, one comedian in particular - Tom Stade was hilarious! I had literal tears down my face and I have now got a sore throat from laughing so hard.

Saturday I went to Lou Lou's Vintage fair in Manchester. It was good, but heaps smaller then I thought it was going to be. I was a little disappointed there wasn't more on offer, just  a small room with stalls along two sides and stalls facing them in the middle. Not loads however I did find this collar which I picked up for £10. I really wanted a collar this season to mix up my leather jacket as I have been wearing it all summer. Its got buttons along the back to fasten it to my jacket collar I just need to figure out how to get the sides to sit better I think.

In other news. I got a new cat called Bruce. Absolutly in love with him! so I have been quite preoccupied with him :) here is a sneaky picture.

I have got some posts lined up so I will try to get a couple in before the new year.

Parklife

Hello!
So I know, I've been slack since Egypt, life has been busy! Anyway last weekend I went to the Parklife festival in Manchester, I've been the past 2 years and it's always the highlight of summer!

So the first day I wore Oh My Love: Leopard blouse top and black studded shorts and primark shoes.  Act of the day: Jaguar Skills. every time I see him I feel like its been the best hour of my life!! I might be going Global gathering so if you are too, check him out!!! Also saw Disclosure, but we left slightly early to get the bus and then Sam Smith came on! Gutteeeeeed!!

The second day I wore a topshop royal blue cami and a River Island maxi skirt tied to the side with the primark shoes.I think the best was Example! I really wanted to see Dj Fresh but they were at the same time. Did anyone go to that Tree house? they had the sickest Djs! I wish it was in my life forever!! The best part was it was SUNNY all weekend, which for Manchester is a miracle!

This week I'm teaching myself how to sew pockets so I can sell pocket tee's for a few months to get some money to be able to start my brand, I've also got loads of idea's for paintings which i'm gotting down to start in August! I don't think I can afford yoga till August now, which I am gutted about but I am going to start training again, I got some beaaautiful new trainers from Sweat shop. they were quite expensive £145 but that includes £45 for orthotics, I have incredibly flat feet thanks to my dad, so hopefully these shoes are going to protect my ankle and knee. Also they do a running club every tuesday and sunday, which I'm nervous about joining when I move to Manchester!!

That's all for now dears
 Ciao x
So a few weeks ago I ordered some new shoes from Choies!!
They are based on the Marc Jacobs dog flats and they are soooo cute, as soon as I saw them I had to have them!!

The great thing about Choies is as soon as you sign up they offer you enough credits to get free postage! And if you are running a fashion blog they have a special deal where you can feature them and they will offer you a little discount, which is always a bonus!! I used my points to take off the price as discounted at 45 is still a bit much for me, so the postage was supposed to take 25+ days, something like 7-10 days later, they had arrived! Only no one was there to receive the post so they didnt get to me till today! Still I was impressed with the postage!!

Get your pair here: http://www.choies.com/product/cute-dog-cat-suede-loafer

Egypt

Hello!
so a little late update,as I got food poisoning on the last night, Sods law that isn't it? At least it's post holiday and not during the holiday!
Apart from that I loved it!! The hotel was gorgeous, food was good and staff we so friendly, it was a little daunting being 3 girls though, we did get preyed on quite a bit! the hotel was Sunrise holidays resort and I would recommend it to everyone!!! There was so much going on with the animation team ( we did get conned into aqua gym a lot!! )

Here's two quickies of my on holiday! cocktails in the pool - all you need! and me completing my arab status by finally riding a camel!!
Sorry this is a short one, but I am dying dears.

Holiday

Eeek! Tomorrow is the day!! I will for one week be jobless, internetless away from computers free to just chill out and have a good time with my mates and reaaaaaaaaaaaad while enjoying the sun.

I've picked a few crime-y themed novels, it wasn't intentional it just happened! Well I did say how much I loved ' Gone girl ' by Gillian Flynn I just had to read more!!
If you have read any of these books let me know what you think!!

Does everyone find packing ridiculously hard? 15KG is SOOO tight! I'm pretty sure I've gone over that and I've packed the bare minimum :( Packing to go home is so easy cause it doesn't matter if I forget anything!! and even then I can go up to 30 KG on etihad :(
Good news as well is my physio gave me the all clear to start running again! I'm so stoked about this!! so when I get back its back to the yoga lounge and back on the running!! I've got a lot going on early june like Parklife!!
anyways dears, this was just a quick one.

The Yoga Lounge - Manchester

Hello!

So I have promised to write this review and here I go!

So the Yoga Lounge is in Deansgate in Manchester, real easy to find! Right next to the Hilton you definitely cant miss that! They offer at the moment around 3-4 types of yoga and one hot pilates and some new pilates which I haven't tried yet! The new pilates opened just as my 30 days ran out!

The staff are always friendly and there are around 4-5 teachers, each with their own style of teaching and differences in the classes, so you may go to hot yoga twice a week but have two different experiences, all the teachers are encouraging and offer really good advice to help you do the poses. I know I really struggle with downward dog as all the weight was going in my wrists and Eleanor explained how to shift it to my hands which made things a lot easier! Though, I still hate downward dog! haha! I've tried each of the classes and love them all! Hot Flow is the hardest class but after a few tries I found I was doing a lot better. If you are wondering how hot yoga is different to bikram: Bikram has a particular set of 26 poses/breathing exercises, the classes never change and it is very disciplined, no talking! you also are encouraged to drink less water in bikram. Hot yoga has a lot of similar poses but you work on a warm up, standing poses, balancing poses and then back/core strenghening poses. You are encouraged to drink water throughout the class to stay hydrated and some of the poses encourage a good giggle around the class.

Everyone is really friendly with each other and the studio is really clean and fresh, I do wish they would get blinds for the 7 o clock classes when the sun goes down though! The changing rooms offer spaces to put your bags and coats have showers and hair dryers. If all classes are full you can be a little pushed for space sometimes but it's never been that bad. The studio has state of the art heating system which means the heat bounces off surfaces, completely different to bikram where its just the room heated up so if you have a cold not everyone is going to get it. The temperature is also adjustable which sometimes has been a life saver if the class is fuller and hotter! They also have the capability to book sessions online, which is amazing! you can keep a good yoga diary of what you are doing and they have a good range of times. You can tweet the studio with suggestions and they really do go off peoples feedback.

As for myself, hot yoga has induced some more weight loss, as you know I had an ankle injury and couldn't run or do anything in the gym so the classes really helped me with my fitness, this type of yoga is cardiovascular. The heat and movements themselves have helped my ankle heal and loosen my back. I'm constantly stretching in work realising how stiff it is working at a desk! I am so much stronger then I was 30 days back! Mind-wise I usually cannot shut my mind off, but when I am in class I am able to clear my mind, and to have that break feels amazing! I come out feeling so much calmer and I feel so much more confident in myself, I cannot describe how much much confidence has changed!

The Yoga Lounge has been a really positive impact in my life and I can't wait to get my membership in June, 75 pounds sounds like a lot but when you think its 10 pound a class and your getting all you want yoga/pilates, It's actually a really good offer!

So check it out:  http://theyogalounge.co.uk/

Update: They tweeted me to let me know they are getting blinds next week!! Told you they took all comments on board :) 10 days till I go back!

Style Crush: Millie Mackintosh

Hello!!

I realised I haven't blogged at all this week!! That's no good!

This week I got my ASOS goodies!! If you saw my Egypt lust haves! I ordered all the dresses and a cheeky MANGO jumper that was on sale, sadly I had to return the jumper for a smaller size, I'm kidding I'm not that sad... It means I am shrinking!! Though it was so comfy I can't wait to get it back!! Two of the dresses I did return :( The stunning printed mango dress and the ASOS maxi dress. The maxi dress was just toooo long for my tiny legs and didn't sit right because of it. The MANGO dress I was so gutted about because its beautiful, I think it was made for taller people.... It was baggy everywhere but real tight on my hips no matter what I would have do it just would have sat weird on me so I had to say no to that :( on the plus side I am in LOOVEEE with the Midi dresses I got! take a peek at my instagram for a pic of me in the baroque dress! However I'm not moping too much because today I saw this beaaauutiful dress from Topshop I'm going to buy tomorrow:

(p)

So this post is mainly about Millie's style, has anyone been watching Made in Chelsea? It's definitely my guilty pleasure!! Anyway, I follow Millie on twitter ( HOW CUTE IS HERBY?!?) and she has been posting a  Style Diary . so I put a little collage of some of my favourite outfits! I really like the layout of her style diary I think I am going to be naughty and steal this for when I do my style diaries. Millie has a really good mix of high street clothes and the more expensive ones that unfortunately we can't all afford( like that purple burberry coat in my first pic :( ) I was obsessed with the missgudied tie dye dress, but looking at the measurements I am FAR to short for it. It's hard being 5 foot!! Which are your favourite Millie outfits?

On a personal note, not long to Egypt!!! I've lost a little more weight, I just need to start doing more cardio which is hard when I am banned from running still! I will be spending the next ten days at the yoga lounge( I will blog about this in a few days) I've made a bit of money on ebay which I have been putting aside in my savings! I've decided to try and sell as much as possible before I move in August, anything unsold will go to charity shops and I am going to go craaazzzyyy  in the art shops in Manchester!

I think that's all for now dears.

EGYPT Lust haves!

Hello!!

So in the excitement of egypt I've put a little collection of images together of things I want to buy for the holiday!! Think I may need to win the lottery soon! Although... help a sister out and have a look at my old clothes I am selling: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/lauraboyle747/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25&_trksid=p3686 .

Hoping that I can make enough on eBay  savings and selling my wii to afford these goodies! When I do a shop I'll show you all the things I get :)

In other news I have 19 classes of hot yoga/pilates booked till the 15th so hopefully some of this stomach podge will go! Physio this week so hopefully I can get back to the gym as soon as! Can't believe I am saying this but I miss running! I'm signing up for the Chester marathon on the 6th October seeing as I cannot do the Manchester one or the half marathon.

I think that's all for now dears

Review: Lush Big Blue.

Hello!! This week I am writing about the Big Blue bath bomb from Lush.

Since Feb, I've become obsessed with Lush products. I will definitely be doing more reviews for them, anyway when I went in in March I asked the girl for some relaxing products for when I was running. She suggested this and a big orange bar I can't remember the name of but I found out it was just a spring limited edition and they don't sell it any more! Devastated!
(p- bath bomb pic)

Anyway, here is a picture of the bomb and my bath, I won't lie its such a gorgeous shade of blue, I definitely felt I was at sea! I was a bit put off by the amount of seaweed at first but when I was in the bath it didn't bother me at all, I completely forgot about it! After about twenty minutes my skin felt so soft. even now without moisturiser it feels amazing!! I couldn't believe it! Definitely stocking up on this again! The bomb dissolves so quickly, I just threw it in the bath, I do find with the bubble bar I have to run it under the water and sometimes large chunks break off and float around till I locate them but this just did it all on its own and was blue in no time!

In other news, the reason it was so exciting to have a bath like the sea is because: I'M GOING TO EGYPT!!! I'll be there for a week next month, the hotel looks gorgeous!!! It's called sunrise beach resort and if you have been there please let me know what you thought!! I've never really been to another Arab country apart from home so it's really exciting to see the culture from a different angle and to see what their souks have in stall! I'm going to be working hard to get my beach body. 30 DAYS TO GO! Ive booked in 20 classes at the yoga lounge in Manchester. This place is fantastic and I will write about my 30 days when they are done!

Lastly I did my very first car boot today. Let's just say it was an experience!! First of all some guy tried to pretend he had paid when he hadn't. Then some woman was supposed to pay 6 pounds for 2 perfumes gave me a fiver and legged it!!! I couldn't believe it!!She also had the nerve to return later and when we realised who she was as she walked away she made a quick escape again!  I'm not sure if its generally car boots or just today's crowd but they wouldn't even pay like £1.50 for a scarf! it was ridiculous! I decided not to lower the prices of a lot of my clothes and will eBay those later but I did manage to make 158.35! And now have much more space in my room!

Well dears, that's all for now.

Review: John Frieda Hair Mask

This week I am reviewing the John Frieda Hair mask: Miraculous recovery
(p)
So, in september I had this crazy idea I was going to dye my hair lilac, and I put 5 packs of bleach on my hair. I know, what was I thinking, I only reached a patchy ginger as well. My hair was fine until October when I holiday'd in australia and i found TONES of my hair was falling out, it was brittle, I could hardly get a brush through it. A hairdresser recommended using some strengthening products, I bought Paul Mitchell's strenghening products and while less hair was falling out I couldn't get a comb through it. So I bought this hair mask for around...£6 in asda, i use it once a week and straight away I noticed how much better my hair was. I could get a brush in it, it felt as soft as it used to and I wasn't worried about trying to style it. Honestly if you have troubled hair get this product. I've had it over a month now you don't need to use loads and I roughly leave it on for 5 minutes, wash it out and voila! My hair is the same as before! hardly any falling out and soft and smooth, brushes well. Let me know if you guys have had good experiences with this too!

Back!

Hello!!

Back from my lovely trip home!! Home always makes me feel so refreshed and inspired and its just so nice to get away from the UK and breathe. I spent a lot of my trip reading at the beach! A book I definitely recommend is: Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I won't write about the plot because I don't want to spoil it but go and read!! I am thinking of doing a book review page aswell!

I have so many new idea's floating around in my head for my art and it is frustrating not having the space or materials to be able to do them right now but August is only 4 months away! So I am going to do as much prep as I can so I can start work straight away!

I didn't take many photo's but here is a couple: mostly of my cats and the beach!
Polly and injured ankle

Dougal

Sparky trying to get my food

Actually the best burger in the world!

The Club beach

Public beach

So those are my photo's! My ankle is still injured so no running for now. Will do some more updates during the week as I have so much to catch up on!

home

Hello!

Just a small update, I'm off home tomorrow!! I'm so excited to see my folks, cats and friends and just GET OUT of this cold weather and chill out in some sun! ( My home is Abu Dhabi)

I'm taking a small sketchbook to jot down any idea's I have in terms of my art and clothing line. I'm not taking my laptop as it's nice to get a break from the internet so I won't be updating my blog till the 15th, I can't wait to share some pictures!! In terms of training, I'm going to run 30 mins everyday, then I have 3 big runs planned with one or two half marathons and two hour runs aswell. I also am planning on swimming alot and also doing my core strenghtening plan! 55 days till my holiday and 32 days till the marathon still got a fair amount to drop!

I've added a review page to start reviewing products I use, I'm not sure how to get my posts to go under the right page aswell, any tips please tell me! If not I am going to look into this more when I get back.

ASOS Holiday Wishlist.

Hello!!
So I am trying a new format with pictures, what do you think? Think it needs alittle more work! The other day I was on ASOS having a cheeky look at what I can't buy and here is a few things I really want for summer, think I will get them in May for holiday as a little post-marathon treat! Loving skater dresses at the moment! Not sure I need the Vans hat but its so cute!

In other news at work we raised 175 pounds for charity! I'm absolutely buzzing! Planning new events to do to raise more money! My back is a little better so I am getting back on the training tomorrow and hitting it harder then ever before 40 days left!
In May I am thinking I will start doing some outfit posts and maybe some hair and make up when I have perfected some. I've been practicing my victory rolls! http://graceandbraver.blogspot.co.uk/ has a really simple and easy tutorial! Go and check it!

Style Crush 2 - Alexa Chung

Well. She's alot of people's fashion icons..... I just love her hair, I'm a little obsessed with it actually. I won't lie, she is just gorgeous!
I love her festival chic, effortless way of putting clothes together. She just knows!! Stripes and blouses! Here are some of my favourite outfits.
What I love about this is the yellow scarf that gives the outfit that extra pop.

I LOVE contrast blouses. end of.

To be honest I do really just love blouses. also of the studded variety.

I don't think I really need to caption why this is so stunning.

I don't really know what more to say, I think she speaks for herself on why she is a style crush for me!

On a separate note, I really need to get some new make up soon, Especially eyeliner my face isn't complete without it! Started my new marathon training plan, 2 months to go! I AM SCARED. but I managed 4 miles in 45 minutes today, so with my new plan I am praying I will get to finally do the 13 miles on saturday and with a few under my belt and some 18 miles and one 22 mile run I think I will be okay! lost another 2 pounds, nearly under 9 stone now! Also bought a cheeky dress on ebay!
Thats all for now dears

what's in my wardrobe - Jackets

Hello! So.... I thought this weeks post I would show you some things from my own wardrobe, I decided to feature 6 of my Jackets.
River Island Jackets

Dorothy Perkins, Pretaportobello

Pull & Bear, Topshop

These are my 6 favourite Jackets in my wardrobe right now, I'm obsessed with quilted things at the moment so when I saw that quilted river island jacket I KNEW it had to be mine!! I haven't actually worn it yet sadly, Manchester is still alittle too cold for a jacket like that!!
Plain leather jackets are a staple item for each wardrobe!! Everyone should own one!! This one from dorothy perkins has the option of sheepskin collar aswell which I took off as I usually just have that on in winter. The pretaportobello jacket I got for my birthday and has saved my life these past two months. I'm in love with it!!
Finally my two animal print jackets, a new love is leather sleeves, leather sleeves + leopard print = the perfect coat! I'm waiting for the weather to warm up alittle before wearing this! and finally my dalmatian print topshop coat, its fauz fur. and I LOVE IT. dalmatians are my favourite animal so when dalmatian print was in last AW I was one happy girl. Alittle expensive but with some student discount I think this coat was worth it! 100%, vintage looking and dalmatian what more could you want?

I have been busy lately getting some sketches ready to start selling next month to raise money for my marathon, I really hope I can raise alot this way, if it goes well I might do a lot more and fingers crossed I can raise alot of money, Im not really sure how else to raise some!
Since last week I've only really lost a pound but I'm not gutted too much I'm hoping to be under 9Stone by next week though! now I'm driving again I will have time to make healthy breakfasts, so going to prep that healthy lunches and some snacks so no more crisps at work!!

Feb: Lust Haves

Hey guys. So... I'm pretty broke at the moment, but I've seen some beautiful things that should be mine :( I'm trying to save up so I hope these bad boys will be mine by summer!

River Island Cuffs.

River Island Boxy Top

Miss Selfridge Jacket

Ebat Batman Dress

Topshop Bowler hat

Topshop boots
So, these are 6 of the things I am lusting for. I've wanted that miss Selfridge jacket for MONTHS now. It WILL be mine. There is something about Boxy tops, I'm not sure yet, but... I'm pretty sure I need one in my life. The bowler hat will go PERFECT with a dress I saw in primark... which I didn't see the other day but I have faith that too will be mine!

Another good note is: I lost a STONE since January 3rd. I can't quite believe it! Esp as I couldn't train for the marathon for 2 weeks due to injury and illness!! My goal is to loose another stone by the end of March and be alot fitter for when I go home! I'll be doing Hot Yoga and pilates, I've done Bikram this last week and LOVE it, even if you sweat buckets. I'll also be running 3-4 times a week, really need to step it up for the marathon

Artist feature - Tim Walker

Tim Walker is one of my favourites... no...actually my favourite fashion photographer!

His amazing dreamlike pictures and ability to mix fashion in with story lines is amazing! Large scale, incredible clothes from some of the biggest names and just the most fantastic imagination ever. If I ever get to be half the photographer he is I would be so happy!

I recently went to his exhibition 'Storyteller' in somerset house in London and it did not disappoint!!
The overall curation was really thought out, with script running along the walls in a variety of ways explaining some of walkers thoughts. They had some of the props he uses and its amazing to see them in person and how he uses them to capture the images, I read once that where the picture is is the perfect set up but if you shot an inch either side you would see chaos! They used crates to present some of the images which I thought was really creative and had a largescale example of his sketchbook. It's a shame it's ended now because it really was an inspiring exhibit. Here's some pictures I found online of the exhibit.

Style Crush 1 - Ashley Madekwe

Okay, so if you haven't been watching revenge you are missing out on one of the most stylish character wardrobes going. Ashley in revenge shows you how it's done. Ashley herself though, is just even more stylish. I wish her entire wardrobe was mine! she does an amazing mix of high street and couture which means most of her outfits are affordable if you substitute the couture parts.... you need to check out her style blog: http://ashley-ringmybell.blogspot.co.uk/
