Beauty: Review - Lush Reindeer Rock

The best thing about christmas is all the special christmas smelling goodies you can get. The worst thing? not being able to afford them all. I was umming and aahing about buying this because it was the only thing from the range that really caught my eye ( and nose...) as it smells like my favourite bar the comforter. Anyway when I got home I found I hadn't left myself any shower gel or soap as expected.... and I just so happened to pass a lush store... if that's not fate I don't know what is.

this smells amazing, so much berry goodness and when I unravelled it in my bathroom, the whole room smelt delicious. When I wet the bar to use it I found the smell became more muted which is a relief as I may have smelt a little overwhelming for some people.

I don't really need to go into the logistics on how to use a bar of soap, it does what it does, lathers well and smells great so I happily recommend this, its nice, fresh and uplifting. I'm not sure how much this retails at in the UK out here its 36dhs for 100kg so price will vary dependant on how much you buy. I think its like £3 something. anyway I am definitely getting more of this before christmas is over!

What were your favourite christmas products?

This is me until christmas now, so MERRY CHRISTMAS and see you in the new year.

Beauty: Review - MAC Pro paintpot in Soft Ochre

I've been lusting after this ever since I started watching EasyNeon's videos, it seemed like a perfect primer to get my eyelids prepped. I managed to get hold of this before doing mine and my  mates make up on friday and I think it sets a nice even shade for putting your eyeshadows on top.

I later used this for my works do and my eyeliner and shadow lasted till the next day! I'm really impressed with this.

I found you need to rub it with your finger to heat it up to make it more spreadable if that makes sense? I found I couldn't just put some straight on the brush to on my lids, but I didn't mind I usually use my fingers to prime my eyelids. Though it does have a lovely soft creamy feel to it.  You don't even need that much to set a good base so I think this pot is going to last quite a while and is fast going to become a staple in my make up case!

It is £15.50 which for mac isn't that expensive and I think when you look at other prices for primers it's not that bad.

Have you guys ever tried this out? Which are your favourite primers

ASOS wishlist

Christmas is the season for...wishlists! I am the kind of person that adds a million and one things to their ASOS basket, I then tend to watch the items on the cat walk a few times go away and come back to decide if I really want it. To be honest most of the time I can't actually afford to buy anything and must wistfully watch my items till that horrible red out of stock banner comes up.

Here's a few things I'm dreaming of this christmas.

1) ASOS Pencil Skirt in Floral Print on Texture : surprisingly I am not a fan of this as a co-ord but I do love this skirt. I think it would look stunning with a black cami or bralet. Accessorise with a hot pink clutch for bonus points.

2)ASOS Skater Skirt with Stripe Elastic Waistband I've been wanting a skirt like this ever since Beautycrush showed a white one in a haul. I think it would be great for a sports Luxe look!

3)ASOS Skort in Printed Marble Scuba I just LOVE marble prints, I also really love skorts because I  am not the most ladylike when I sit or bend down and this has got me covered!

4)ASOS Mini Skirt in Leather Look I've been after a leather mini skirt for ages, I think it's a perfect item to dress up or down for dates or gigs.

5) ASOS Fine Rib Knitted Turban Hat I have this in black and burgundy and I LOVE them, perfect for a bad hair day, perfect to keep your ears and head warm in winter. EVERYONE should have one!

6) ASOS Lace Swing Dress with High Neck I reaaaaaallly want a swing dress. plus its burgundy and lace - what's not to love? I just wish my works do wasn't black and white or I would have been all over this! ( for anyone who may point out this comes in black, it ain't got nothing on burgundy!)

7) ASOS AFRICA Mono Floral Print Playsuit OH. MY. GOD it was lust at first sight with this, everytime I look at it I am like can I buy it? ( the bank says no but my heart says YES!) It reminds me of an artist I saw at uni and I just love this print!

8) ASOS Poodle Print Envelope Clutch Bag As I thnk we all know I love prints and there is something about this colour combo I really like.

9) ASOS Cocktail Rings Multipack I need more rings, I really want to start wearing more, this a gorgeous little set!

10)ASOS Double Bridge Cat Eye Sunglasse I love cat eye glasses. I also really love tortoiseshell. I think these will be perfect for festivals!

what are you wishing for?

Beauty : review elegant touch abstract nails.

Along with the false lashes I previously wrote about I also wanted to try some false nails. I'll admit, I am super lazy when it comes to painting my nails. probably because I am one of those people who constantly picks ay her nail polish the moment I have nothing to do or I want to distract myself. I thought if I tried these it would stop me.

And it did kind of.... I bought a boots nail glue to help them stick on but they did come off quite easily, and I did end up picking at them and pulling them off. they have a wear time of a week supposedly but these people must sit and do absolutely nothing for a week....

open a soup can
POP
nail gone

open a door at work
POP
nail gone.

so easily, I don't know if that's just the quality of the glue though. I don't think the boots glue was very good so I think next time I will try a branded glue.

I have quite small hands and I did struggle to pick nails that fit, I had to pretty much use all the smallest ones available and then I had a couple spare in case I lost any. I wish they would make nail sets for tiny people!

They were really simple to use, put clue on your nails and stick! though I had to spend FOREVER filing these down to a reasonable height though.

That being said the nails looked gorgeous! and a lot of people complimented me on them which is always lovely! I have another pack I am going to try that may convince me to invest in a few more as of the moment I'm not 100% sold.

What do you guys make of these?

Beauty: MAC eyeshadows - Blackberry and Girlie

I decided to treat myself to ONE MAC eyeshadow and as usual I came out with two. Blackberry has been a shade I wanted for a long time but when I went into MAC I saw Girlie ( A shade previously considered only a few times.....)

I think Lily was a big inspiration for the pink shade(Girlie), and a girl at work keeps wearing pink, she has quite a tan so it looks so lovely on her, although I'm pretty pale I think this comes out really nicely. I think both the colours blend so well.

I don't think these photos do Blackberry justice and make it look a lot more brown then it actually is.Tw0six has a really great picture that does it a lot more justice!! Does anyone have tips for taking pictures of MAC eyeshadows? I never seem to be able to get good pictures of them!

Recommend me some of your favourite MAC shades! I still have quite a way to go till my palette is complete!

Beauty review: Tanya Burr Eyelashes

I tried falsies a while back and had been looking to try them again, initially I was looking at getting  some of the Millie Mackintosh ones but since I can't find them in a shop and Tanya recently released hers......so I thought, this is perfect!

I grabbed a pair at superdrug for £5.49 which I think is pretty good! I wasn't sure which lashes to get but thought the date night would look the most natural for me, I really like the twiggy style way they are set up and I definitely could not be bothered to do individual lashes.

Honestly? I really liked these, I'm not an avid lash wearer so I couldn't honestly say how they compare to others, they really are perfect date night or night out lashes, with extra flicks on the edges. They were easy to apply, they stayed on all night and even till the next stay as I forgot I had them on and slept in them - Oops! I know when I wore some eyelure ones they came off in the night so I was super pleased with that. I would say you can get a few wears out of this. Think I am going to try the rest of the range though... totally not sure about the individuals! haha may give myself a few months before that point.

Here is a super rubbish phone picture of them on me!

Which is your favourite pair of Tanya Burr lashes?

And which are your favourite Millie Mackintosh ones? I think I may brave getting a few pairs!

Prague

This weekend I finally went to prague with a bunch of girls from work. I have been dying to go to prague for a lonnnggg time, it looks so picturesque and it definitely didn't disappoint.

Everyone is really lovely and helpful, we didn't meet anyone who didn't speak english.

We stayed at royal court apartments and I definitely recommend it! They are getting a spa put in as well!! and you can order a massage to your room! the location is great as well!

It was a little confusing figuring out how to buy a tram ticket you have to get it from a shop or something so we taxi'd and only once got conned. lets say we learnt out lesson to ask the cab fare before going anywhere!! Apart from that its super easy and cheap to get around.

If you can get to a pilsner pub with a PUB sign oustide it means you get a table and get to pour your own pints, you're even in a little competition with all the other tables and pubs!

Dislikes? the smell occasionally. and the ice bar, FREEZING and it was not enjoyable apart from that I loved everything and I am seriously going back next year!

have you guys been?! where are your favourite places in prague for me to try next time?

Beauty: palette wishlist

There are soooo many beautiful palettes out at the moment. I've probably missed another 10 odd that I want.

I think its safe to say from the above picture I NEED a lorac palette in my life!!! I've heard such good things about these palettes! Such great colour selections! even in the mini unzipped palette!

The first palette is an Estee Lauder palette in current desire, there was at least another 2-3 versions of this palette that I would like too but of all of them this was my favourite. I think its got perfect christmas party shades!

We've got 2 cheeky Urban decay palettes the on the run palette which i dont think is out yet! everything you need everyday I think this palette is going to be a bag space life saver! the Vice 3 palette has some amazing colours and what I like about this palette is they include some colours I would never go for so if I ever needed them there is an opportunity with this palette!

Lastly is the NARS virtual domination cheek palette! £45 I'm sooo undecied to buy thus, the packaging is beaaautiful but in the Narcissist palette I already have laguna and deep throat. but. two limited edition shades....and that coral shade looks so nice.... DILEMMA. A few people have said that the pigmentation isn't as good as a stand alone blush, has anyone tried this, is it true? I do find this is the case with my Narcissist palette

What palettes are you all lusting after?

Beauty: Rimmel Stay Blushed - Pop of pink!

I have a mild obsession with Alexa Chung.... I'm not ashamed to say!( C'mon now who doesn't love her!?) I was watching this Lisa Eldridge tutorial with her and they used this Rimmel cheek blush.

Now I don't usually stray from powder blushes or bronzers but this looked quite interesting so I thought... why not?... let's have a look at it. Honestly when I scouted it out online I thought I would go for the Sunkissed Cherry shade, being a self-confessed bronzer fanatic. But. But when I went in store I much preferred the pop of pink and decided to go with this one.

Now I haven't completely strayed, I like to add this on top of a light bronze, I simple squirt a teeeeny amount on one finger dab my other finger on it a few times then dab it on the apples of my cheeks and keep dabbing till it's blended and I love it! Espcially with my Rimmer bronzer, it's really subtle and has definitely opened my eyes to try other blushers like this!! I really hope they do some other shades in this! At £4.49 that's a really good price I feel.

Have you guys ever tried this before?

Beauty: Autuminal Favourites

I know I have been off the blogging radar, I got a new laptop and can't seem to get photoshop on it, to edit my pictures so I may have to get back to the old laptop again....I am pretty useless with technology!

So a lot of people are going on about their Autumn favourites and there are some excellent selections going on. Of course we all have the standard dark A/W lip, I know a lot of people are going for berry's but this dark brick red ( MAC's hearts aflame) is the one for me this Autumn( if you want a cheaper version look at the Kate Moss for Rimmel collection 07).  My daily lip is MAC's Yield to love, I love a good Mauve ( I've probably said this countless times) - mylipbutbetter. Anybody have a few good Mauve's to recommend? Illamasque seem to have some good ones going!

I got this rimmel bronzer to replace my beloved topshop bronzer and its perfect! I always prefer a bronzed cheek to a blush and this is quite subtle, I was debating the bodyshop honey bronzer but I was broke and this was cheaper...what's new? but it was a great decision, same quality! On top of this I have been loving dabbling the Rimmel stay blushed! I am going to do a review of this because I love this so much more then I ever anticipated.

A few weeks on and I am still wildly in love with the Naked basics 2, it actually hurts to debate using another palette, like I feel like such a judas I have to find a way to sneak this one in as well. I think it's brilliant to do a simple shadow sweep a long with the brick red or a brown smokey cateye with the mauve.

And lastly I have fallen back in love with my Realtechniques blush brush! I always put this aside for my Kabuki brush but recently this has been coming out on top.

What are your favourites?

update. 20/10/2014

So my posts lately have been lacking. part of me just couldn't find it in myself to type and I didn't want to do any half arsed posts because what's the point in that? The other part was kinda taken over by my next surprise:

MEET HARRY.
yes I totally named my cat after Harry potter.

He is asleep on me right now and is the cutesssst. I got him on saturday! So I promise from now on regular posts!!! I just had this big catshaped hole in my life. I miss Bru terribly, having a cat like him was just so special and with our little routine I just missed it, I missed having a cat around to look after and snuggle at night. 1 cat down. 26 to go.

I promise posts from now on! x

Beauty: Urban Decay Naked Basics 2

Everyone is blogging about this little palette... maybe you don't need another post telling you how amazing this is but here is my 2 cents....

When the Basics palette came out, it just wasn't for me the colours were just too far, the black too dark and the pales too light for my poor pale skin, it was all too harsh. The middle shades didn't really looks like ones I would use either.

Then I saw the naked basics 2 on instagram and I knew. I just knew it was going to be the one I couldn't let pass me by. The muted black, the softer beige and the stunning taupe-browns. This was the travel palette for me. There isn't a single colour I wouldn't use, they work amazingly together as well and I have used this every single day since I bought it!

This retails around £22 which I would say is definitely worth it, if you are familiar with the quality of urban decay eye shadows you'll understand they are worth every penny, I have yet to hit pan on any of my naked palettes, I think this could be the first palette I do that on...

I actually bought this for £15.40 on cohorted where you basically can get discount on the product depending on when you buy it I think. the more people that buy it the more it goes down, something like that until it can't go down anymore. I don't 100% understand but basically each week there are 4 new products you can get a discount on, and these can be some amazing beauty products - MAC lipsticks, too faced palettes, realtechniques brushes all sorts, you gotta be quick though and get it before everyone else. The postage is free within the first month and posts really quickly. I really recommend getting yourself registered onto this place!

Whats your best cohort bargain? What do you think of this palette?

How to: Cover a red tattoo with MAC make up ( The non eyeshadow method)

This weekend my sister got married! Exciting!! She asked me before to cover my tattoo, after endless attempts with eyeshadows concealer foundations and many a youtube video I was stuck.
I went to MAC for advice, A lovely lady ( whose name I didn't get sadly) offered to show me how, with the tattoo being on my neck I had to sit and hold a mirror so I could see what she was doing! ( this is also why I haven't been able to do another step by step to show you.

First of all she used the MAC Prep and Prime CC cream with a yellow tone to balance out the redness. This is applied with the sponge. ( the lady was lovely enough to give me a free sample as I only needed it for one day)

Next we applied the studio finish concealer with an eyeshadow brush. I used the shade NW15 because I am SUPER pale. If it gets a little cakey between layers mix in a tiny bit of moisturiser with the concealer.

On top of this we patted on the prep & prime transparent powder to set the concealer

Give it a moment to set and keep adding layers until its gone Et Voila! A covered tattoo.  I didn;t have time to fully cover it or get a a proper picture I managed to locate one with my back in...the first picture and the second is when the mac artist did it and we still needed another layer or two and I have my bike jacket on for 40 minutes....

This is so crazy easy I can't believe how much I was faffing about before! It doesn't take that long to do either, we just ran out of time due to an unfortunate fire alarm. The staying time is pretty good but obviously if a lot of people are going to rub the area you will most likely need to top it up every couple of hours!

Ciao x

PS I also tried this method to cover a large blue bruise, we couldn't be bothered with heaps of layers so we didn't fully cover it but it was considerably less noticeable!

Style: Lavish Alice Wish List AW 2014

When this picture appeared on my instagram I was like HECK YES I am entering that! I have been lusting after a fair few lavish alice products - if you have ventured upon their instagram you will know why.

It wasn't difficult to pick out a wishlist!! So many crisp and tailored clothes! They capture that masculine tailored look and add such femininity to them. I have settled for 6 items I love the most ( not including any jewellery or shoes!)

1. First of all we have the Black & White floral mini dress £45. I think this would be perfect with some chunky black wedges and a neon pink clutch for that little pop.

2 Next we have another dress Cream cropped tee dress £54. Look at the back zip. click on the link and look at it! This dress has such a fantastic structure to it. I think it would be flattering for any shape or size.  With this dress I think a chunky gold necklace and these bill skinner pieces( Ring £60 + Earrings £40. To finish it off I would use this stunning Rose Gold Clutch Box ( £22)

3. Last dress is this beautiful Black Scuba grid dress £45, flattering bodycon style with a lovely grid pattern to show off just the right amount of flesh.

4. I love capes. I love blouses. I love them mixed together even more! I saw a cape blouse somewhere and fell in love. This Black collarless cape blouse £54 is a stunner. I think this is so chic and is a perfect office -> night out piece that can easily be styled for both, perfect avec cigarette pants I feel.

5. This coat...I haven't got words to describe how beautiful this white & grey grid duster coat (£60) is. I have been obsessing over it. I did a post a little while ago about how obsessed I was with grid print lately. I have seen so many grid coats I want to get but this is top of the list. GET IN MY LIFE.

6. Last but not least we have this stunning baroque print skirt & top (£30 each) combo. This looks so flattering and the print is spectacular. I really like the collar and long sleeved combo in the top and I am a sucker for a 'highwaisted' midi skirt. I would keep any accesories to as simple as possible as this clearly speaks for itself.

Which items are your favourite? Better yet why don't you enter the competition here!

Beauty review: FUDGE - Iced raspberry & vanilla styling mousse

I'm not overly adventurous with my hair, I will be the first to admit it looks awful and frizzy majority of the time and I pretty much have no idea how to style it..... but sometimes I like to try something and see if I can tame that frizzyness and make it look like I have done some kind of effort to look okay.

I wont lie I saw Iced raspberry & Vanilla and I was sold...

This doesn't have a very strong smell to it though. In terms of proper styling I haven't really tried because I am still going for the Alexa chung bed head look. This claims to tame frizziness and I am not overly sold on that either BUT when I use this and blow dry it my fringe somehow comes out amazing and my hair has strong volume at the roots so much so that I still have some volume even after I have worn my helmet! In fact after a full day my fringe is still going strong. I know most mousse would probably do this, so really this one isn't anything special but the can looks nice. ( Don't judge me) and it wasn't overly expensive... so all in all I do think its a pretty good product. A little goes a long way, literally you can speed press this and you get more then enough mousse!!

have you tried this? what mousse would you recommend?

Beauty - Are you warm or cool toned?

So in two weeks time my sister is getting married! It's a super exciting time and I have the amazing honour of being a bridesmaid! I'm really excited but.... my issue is, I need to cover my tattoos. After numerous youtube videos - I am still somehow no closer to properly covering them.

So I decided to email a MAC artist for some advice, While I may not be a 100% closer - she did give some good advice I thought I would share....

When watching a youtube video the youtuber said depending on your skin tone you should select either a bright orange or a bright pink eyeshadow. Now I think I am quite pinky/ warm toned and I have always gone for pink toned foundations so I went with the pink eyeshadow.

how can I be sure?

The lovely MAC artist( Kate) explained that if you ball your fist and look at the veins at the back, if the veins have a green tint then you are cool toned and should go for the orange eyeshadow and yellow toned products. If the veins have a blue tint then you are warm toned and should go for pink based products.

I never knew this is how you check! I am definitely warm toned! so I thought I would share my new found knowledge with you all. As after all, sharing is caring.

Beauty: review - Good Things DEEP PORE

I've been using Good things products for years now, one of the ranges ( more the blue packing range) smells DIVINE. The smell of a product is a big seller for me and the flavours of this product is fig and wild strawberry...... Dream.

The product claims to be free from: Parabens, mineral oils, sodium sulphate and animal ingredients ( umm..what??) and is suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

I just dab this on a cotton bud and just wipe my face, I'm not the kind of person who has a 5-10 minute beauty routine, I want a quick and simple one! It does a great job of clearing my skin and keeps it pretty spot free! ( No matter what you do sadly cleansers can't help with stress!) does it get rid of pores? I don't know, I have a pore complex so all my pores look forever massive to me! Its a 2 in 1 cleanser and toner ( though I still use a toner after) it also claims to hydrate the skin, I would say this is true, my skin does feel quite soft and refreshed after using this.

I've never really bothered looking at other cleansers I love this so much, It's around £4-5 so its a really good price and tends to last a while.

Have you tried this?

Ciao

Beauty - 5 Winter lipsticks

I love winter, I love the dark tones, the faux fur, the leather, I love it all.( apart from the cold. I really don't love that.) I don't usually separate between summer and winter in terms of make up or fashion, I think the most I have done is swap from foundation to tinted moisturiser. But there is something about winter that makes everyone want to get their Burgundy lipsticks out so I though I would put my two cents in and show you the 5 shades I have ' for winter'.

- Charlotte Tilbury: Night Crimson
- Mac: Hearts Aflame
- Rimmel: Kate Moss 107
- Topshop Lip Bullet : Wine Gum  ( the don't sell this anymore but they have  another shade called Bewitched which is equally as nice)
- Mac Russian Red ( this isn't particularily wintery or dark but I love it so and I will probably wear this to any christmas parties with some gold eyeshadow...)

Another lipstick I used to own was Topshops Hazard which for £8 is ideal and a beautiful shade.

What are your favourite dark reds?

Beauty MAC - Lipstick Hearts Aflame

So the other day I wrote about MACs new ' A Novel Romance' collection and the lipstick yield to love. I said I was looking at a few other lipsticks and Hearts aflame was pretty much a definite to my collection...
I won't lie I swatched it next to another MAC red I've never seen before that was part of the permanent collection - Dubonnet? Colourwise they are preeettty much the same. Hearts aflame is a Matte and Dubonnet is an amplified cream.

All I can say is its love. I probably say this about every lipstick I buy but ...you know I got a lotta love in the world...for MAC lipsticks.

For me this is the ideal autumn/ winter shade, deep red. I feel like this is the shade I wanted when I bought ' hang-up'.
And yes one day I will actually take a decent photo of myself exhibiting a lipstick. Sadly that day is not today. Also, I don't know what it is about red lipsticks but I always feel I apply them best after a glass of wine!

Music Feature Sept 2014

Music has always been a big interest of mine, I used to spend hours finding new bands and going to gigs. So I thought it was apt to make a new little addition to the blog -  of music that I have been loving lately...

First of all I want to feature
Jessie Ware:
Specifically her newest songs: tough love and say you love me. I am absolutely in love with these two song. How do I describe this music? It's mildly electronic with her hauntingly beautiful voice laid over the top. Say you love me was written with Ed Sheeran and shows off the true talent of Jessies voice... just listen.

Rag 'n' Bone Man:
Ahh, my most recent discovery,  this guy has SO MUCH SOUL. He is a kinda blues, soul and hip hop mash up which probably sounds weird but works. He has a really great voice - Lay my body down and wolves I think are my top two but give him a good listen! - Last time I checked you could dl his Ep for free on his Fb page...

Hozier:
Hozier I have known about for months now, ever since Bastille tweeted about him and it was love ever since. Take me to Church is his main release but he has got so many great songs like something new or from eden. I'm actually gutted because due to rain I mised him at glastonbury and ended up not going to leeds so I haven't actually seen him live yet but he has a few live sessions on youtube which pretty much shows you its pure talent. He just has a really amazing way with words, piano, guitar boho kind of sound mixed with a little soul is probably the best way to talk about his sound... he just has an incredible voice, this guy needs to go far.

SBTRKT:
Oh my gosh, I got tickets to see these guys end of the month and I am BEYOND excited. Wildfire and Pharaohs are my favourites...I think. Oh gosh they've done a number of songs with Sampha I love and recently one with Ezra from Vampire Weekend which is good...I can't pick a favourite! He wears this cool african inspired mask when he plays and its mostly electronic music you just haven't heard anything like this!

I know my descriptions are pretty poor here but take my word for it and listen to these guys!

Beauty - MAC Lipstick Yield To Love

So I only found out about the Novel Romance Mac collection a few weeks ago, I just can't keep up with these collections!!! It was LOVE, I don't think I have wanted a collection so much, I loved all the quads and 4/6 of the lipsticks. It's a shame me and my bank don't share this same love for MAC. I had to narrow it down to 2-3 lipsticks that I could aim to buy.
The 4 I was looking at were: Good Kisser, Yield to Love, Hearts Aflame and Lingering kiss.
due to the bank I had to narrow this again.....What is my poor life.
Yield to love was the only one still available online and I read somewhere it was an online exclusive after much research. I had to have it. I'm a sucker for mauves since I can't go for nudes or light pinks mauves are my neutral. And oh! This did NOT disappoint.
It's a creamsheen lipstick and its it's an inbetween for Estee Lauders Pure Colour Envy Rebellious Rose and MACs plumful ( see the pics below, Yield to Love is in the middle) It's a dream. I tend to find a lot of MAC lipsticks a little drying no matter which type I get, but they are always forgiven.

What do you think?
The other I am looking at getting is Hearts aflame, its a brick red and I can justify this... because my topshop Hazard got lost ages ago and I never got a brick red since... so you know...I NEED one really...
Good Kisser looks a lot like red balloon which saddens me because I love that lipstick and its limited edition so I feel I need another similar to help me get through life.
Lingering Kiss I think will be a decision I make when I see it, I have seen a few different swatches and I think its one of those you won't really know until you see it....

I think I need help.

Hello lovelies,It's official I am back!
My lovely friend Jemma over at http://www.dorkface.co.uk/ tagged me in the British tag. I kinda wanted to do this as a video but until I have learn't more about editing videos and properly planning them I am going to put vlogs on the side line. So here is a written British tag which I think Beautycrush started... honestly, I don't think I am very stereotypically english but let's see! :)
1. How many cups of tea do you have a day? How many sugars?
This is where I say I am not very British.... I don't drink tea...or coffee. Everyone gets a little awkward when I go to their house and they offer tea and I'm like... Oh don't drink it sorry and they kinda pause like...oh god what do I offer her?
I do drink green tea, it took me a while to be able to get in the habit of drinking this, espcially when I was working on the phones. See my problem with hot drinks is the pressue you have to drink it, I like to take my time, take an hour or two to drink a glass not guzzle it down in ten minutes. Hot drinks put that pressure on you!! Gotta drink it before it gets cold and you sip and your like oh god. the turning point and then you have to down your dirnk otherwise it's wasted!
2. Favourite part of your roast?
STUFFING. I pile heaps of the stuff on!
3. Favourite dunking biscuit?
Ahh, I don't dunk  any biscuits :/ ...Awkward.
4. Favourite quintessentially British pastime?
Umm. What is a quintessential British thing to do? Oh.... Drinking pimms in summer! that's british!! I do love my pimms!
5. Favourite word?
Quitessential is a new favourite!
I think my favourite british word is Twat. A lot of people think its some kind of swear word, I use it as a general one sometimes and endearing word, sometimes for someone I don't like...
6. Cockney rhyme slang?
I don't know any...being a partially foreign northerner and all....
7. Favourite sweet?
DRUMSTICKS. ohh. refreshers.... fruit salads.....love them alll....
8. What would your pub be called?
Ummm...the spotted dog? I don't know...The red lip? this is why I wouldn't begin to own a pub.
9. No.1 British person?
Alexa Chung. Beaut.
10. Favourite shop / Restaurant?
TOPSHOP.
My  fav british restaurant... hmm. Toby Carvery?
11. What British song pops into your head?
I love. love love british indie you know like AM, Miles Kane, Courteeners, royal blood...kasabian.
but I also love sam smith so much, then you have the classics....5ive. S club 7...
and so many other british artists.
I haven't really answered this well have i? I have a music post coming up actually.
12. Marmite?
YES. but you have to have butter. if there is no butter then it's a bit too much. this is where a lot of marmite haters go wrong. chuck some butter on!

So thats it. Think I did alright? I nominate anyone who reads this and wants to do it. Please let me know if you have by commenting below!

Personal:break

I know a lot of my recent posts have been personal ones, I had finally overcome a lot obstacles and was ready and motivated to throw myself into blogging and life again. I even planned some exciting giveaways for september.... these will still happen but for the next week or two I will be taking another break from my blog. It appears lifes harshness wasn't done with me yet . It breaks my heart to say my cat bruce was run over and I can't quite forgive life for this yet .
Some people may say its just a pet but honestly he was like a child and best friend and he was the only thing going truly right for me.  No matter what the day held he was there at night waiting to give me cuddles and wake me up with them too. We had gotten into this little routine of how our days would go....I could go on for hours about this little quirky cat of mine.
Bruce came to me because he needed a home and frankly I needed a cat, I'm so grateful I had this little one in my life even if it was for a unfairly short amount of time.
I will see you all back in September

Beauty -Review Lush Marilyn hair Mask

I've been looking to try a hair mask for a while and with the recent ombre this was the most ideal time. Everyone knows that when you chuck some bleach on your hair the quality is going to go. So to stop my hair from becoming ratty I looked to hairmasks and where better then LUSH?

I had a look at a few different masks but this one was tailored to bleached hair and keeping off those red tones, kinda like a 2 for 1 for me really. It's around £9.50, it has quite a runny consistency which I didn't expect. I didn't use loads just on the ends of my hair, so the pot will last 3-4 times for me, if you were bleaching your hair all over you would probably need a pot a time and I would probably leave it on for longer then the recommended 20 minutes. It doesnt't really lighten my hair, I've been using it for 2-3 weeks now but it does keep the red tones at bay and it does make my hair soft so its enough for me to keep repurchasing! Extra note - you may smell like you've dipped your hair in tequila ( that's the smell I get from it! )

If you just want to look after your ombre once a week this is ideal for you!

Beauty - Review: Body Shop Almond nail and cuticle oil

A few posts back I wrote about the importance of using cuticle oil and how this can affect the skin around your nails. In the post I wrote that I had bought this but not really thought much of it. After digging it out I decided it deserved another chance.
Firstly that beige nib at the top was pointless.... that's what put me off initially.
After that the pen is actually really good, for a girl who hates touching oil this is ideal. In fact I take this everywhere with me now, when temptation strikes to pick at the skin I get this and dab it round instead. It's working miracles for my nails. It's got a really nice scent to it and dries quite quickly. I guess all in all it does what any other cuticle oil would do it's nothing special there, I will keep buying it because I don't have to touch the oil and spread it around with my fingers. £7.50 though...  that's pretty much around the same price as the oil I got from home when you convert it so I don't think this is outrageous.

Have you tried this?
